My other fav by J Cash
DRIVE ON

Both of the songs I've posted are not entertainment rock songs but, while entertaining they are deep.
Cash has two versions of Drive On and one version has changed a line to
I REMEMBER ONE NIGHT TEX AND ME
WALKED RIGHT UP ON TWO VC
WE HAD OUR 16'S ON ROCK AND ROLL
AND WE SEPERATED THEM
FROM THIER SOULS.

Kinda gets you when you understand this is more than a song.

What song makes me think about Vietnam, I don't remember one song from 1967 that stirs a pre Vietnam memory. I was there 12/67-12/68. while I was there we didn't get any signal from AFRTS so music from 68 was unknown to me. on a trip or something I heard " We got to get out of this place". That made an impression on me. after returning home it was CCR, Cream, and The Rolling Stones music the reminds me of Vietnam.

Holy Moly Old TexMex! I bet there aren't very many of us that remember 3/5ths of a mile in 10 seconds!
Got to love the Airplane...and who didn't have the hots for Grace Slick?!
;)fixed it for ya:D
Yep, "do away with people, blowin' my mind. Do away with people wasting all my precious time"
Funny thing was somebody played that whole album just the other night "Surrialistic Pillow" (1967)it just started a loop in my head that I hadn't heard in a real long time. Probably won't go away for a while.[ame]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ylLdszMHkLo[/ame]

A coupla things......

Yeah, I had the hots for Grace Slick.....and about anything other female at the time.:eek:

I hate to be a whiny loser, but I guess that describes me pretty good, but I have to say that IMHO Canned Heat had the worst vocalist ever.

Does "Whiter Shade of Pale" or anything by the Moody Blues grab anybody?
