The Shields, and M&P line, are an unqualified success.

A million M&P's already! I bet that is about how many 3rd gens were manufactured over the 20 years that they were made by S&W. What do you guys and gals think? More or less than a million?
I wonder how many of them have shot and owned a 3rd Gen? What do they know???
PS: The dark haired on with the dark blouse behind the sign is pretty cute. I opened the magnifier for a closer look.
I'd say we are all in somewhat unusual moods today.Does anybody think I'm in a contrary mood today?

The $100.00 MA "tax" on S&W M&P products is a real bummer.Somewhat seriously. Are there any known problems with the Shield? I've been wrestling with the idea of buying one, just because.
Being in MA, I have to figure in about $100.00 or so on top of the selling price for a replacement (reasonable pull) trigger. A few used ones have popped up recently with the trigger modification done, but I'm still on the fence.
The $100.00 MA "tax" on S&W M&P products is a real bummer.I feel your pain. You should come with me to the range someday and try mine... just to see if you can live with the stock 27-1/2 pound MA trigger.
It's for the children after all.![]()
3 Options...I had an M&P9c with trigger work done by Greg Derr. It shot well and the trigger was fine. I bought that used from the original owner at a reasonable price. THENNNNNNN, I found a lightly used (college PD) 6906, which was everything the M&P was and a 3rd Gen. Bought that, sold the M&P, never looked back. Still, a Shield wouldn't be a bad gun to have if the trigger pull wasn't required to be 10.5 pounds per MA law.
What is this $100 tax?
