Hope you can help. It's a blue 3" Model 10-8. Ser. # AER33XX
38 special.
I've been looking for a chart without luck.

The prefix AER is not in the SCSW's incomplete list but it falls in between two used during 1984, ADT and AEV.

June - July 1984

The 3-inch gun was not very common. The 2-inch and 4-inch (especially) were made in far larger numbers. In fact, I've never even seen a 3-inch -8 in the box. That would be a real treat, if you had it.

I'll try to take a picture & post. I bought it used about 15-20 years ago. No box. Great condition, excellent trigger (probably a trigger job,but a good one), just some holster wear front of barrel. Real good house gun especially for the girls living here. I'm talking myself out of selling it to help pay for the 629 I just bought. Might have to sell something else.

When selling to help with the budget it makes sense to sell common easy to replace guns that you don not have long fond memories of. Those can be replaced when the budget is plump again.

S&W took back Australian police 3" tapered barrel square butt Model 10s in a large enough quantity that they aren't hard to find now, but they will get harder to find again before long. The round butt heavy barrel 3" Model 10s are harder to find.

Here's a 10-8 3 inch I found last year.
