Apart from the cute cheerleaders, I hate football. Maybe some Superbowl commercials are amusing. But I won't watch the game to see them.

Will probably watch North Woods Law on Animal Planet. Or run a movie.

The Pomp and Circumstance is sure a whole lot better than any half time show could ever think about being.

Super Bowl Sunday! Got up early to start cooking the tailgate spread. French dip, potato skins, pasta salad, cheese dip, buffalo chicken dip, guacamole, and plenty of cold beverages. No bet on a specific team, but "square boards" are a big deal around here. Pay some money to buy a square on a 10 by 10 grid. When the grid is filled with names, you draw numbers from 1 to 10 for each square, each way. Panthers on one side, Broncos on the other. If your numbers match the score at the end of a quarter, you win some money. Youth sports, schools and churches use them to fund raise, keeping half the money and paying the other half in prizes. Good way to stay interested in a fight that you don't have a dog in.

Once again, the eastern half of Missouri has lost their football team, and everybody is searching for a new team to follow. I guess I'll go back to Cardinals, since they were the team of my youth until fleeing to Arizona. Bill Bidwell is less of a tool than Stan Kroenke, so it makes sense to me.

To each his own. Personally I find football profoundly boring and there's something about a "sport" with a 5K dollar average ticket price that makes me a little nauseous. Or maybe it's the cocktail weenies and frozen egg rolls.

Dentists and TV repairmen provide an actual service, at least if you have a cavity or your TV stops working (and it's expensive enough not to just replace).

Some hoodlum chasing an inflated animal skin? That's another story.

It's an activity to which I attribute no value at all. If you pay a nosepicker $5,000,000 a year, he's still a nosepicker. I feel the same way about "professional" athletes.

I don't care if somebody else watches football. I'm just not going to watch it with them or pretend that I value it any more than nosepicking.

Yes and no. We always have a small get together with food and drink but it's more of an occasion to get together than it is to watch football. It will be on and I'm sure I'll glance over a few times

I quit watching football about 30 years ago, believing there has to be a better way to spend my time. And there is.
