Anyone else been waiting for the 9mm to come into your store? I have been waiting a couple weeks and have no idea when they might come in.

I ordered mine Tuesday from Quantico Tactical for $325 and went on the waiting list. It can take a week to 3 weeks with them. My Shield 40 is now on consignment at the indoor range I belong to. I am having to carry my 1911 RO. Don

Woops just got the email it shipped today that was a 3 day wait.

I ordered mine yesterday, and my LGS said it may be here by Monday. I'm probably paying full retail for it (Cabela's had them on sale for $399 last week), but this is a new gun store, and I don't mind helping them out a bit as they get off the ground.

Cabelas in my state has them in stock but they will be a last resort. Would rather give my money to a small shop and form a relationship with them. Plus cabelas sale is one dollar less then what my store has them normally so not huge savings.

If you don't mind me asking.....why did you go from the .40 to the 9?

I can shoot the 40 real well with 3" groups at 10yds and 1" at 5yds but I don't like shooting the gun. My defense loads are Hornady Critical Defence and I load HPs to the same velocity as practice rounds. The gun is just to snappy to enjoy shooting it and I try to shoot my EDC a couple times a week 50 rounds each time. I shoot almost everyday at a indoor range. My old hands and wrist don't like the pounding. Second thing is with a 9mm I can get back on target and am able to place more rounds where they count. I have owned the gun for a year and it is so easy to carry but if you don't like a gun why keep it. I paid $310 a year ago and getting $350 for it so I don't think I will miss this one. I have a 40 CORE I really like shooting. Don

The wait was too long for me. So I went with the new Walther PPS M2 instead.

That's exactly why I ordered one from the new gun store in town. I could have saved money if I had bought it at Cabela's, but supporting local businesses is more important (especially since this one has good customer service, unlike the other gun shop in town, which acts like they could care less if you darken their door).

Just bought my very first handgun, I went with the Shield 9mm. Shot 50 rounds thru it and was very impressed with the tight grouping at 7-10 yds. Love this piece have heard a lot of good things any negatives I should know about? Any input would be great. Thank you!!!!

The only issue I have heard about is the RSA (recoil spring assembly) but it seems to be a very small percentage who have had problems, you can use the search function on the forum and find threads about it. Personally I have had my shield for over 2 years with no problems. Congratulations on your new pistol and welcome to the forum.

I first got the BG 380 with red Crimson laser and shortly after that followed up with the Shield 9mm and it has been on my side everyday since I got it. Love this gun. I've had no issues besides after about 100rds through it rather quickly it got jammed once. After I cleared it she hasn't skipped a beat since. I'm guessing she was very warm and 4 days before that I out about 60 rds through her and didn't clean after. She's been fine ever since.

I bought a shield last month. It was in stock at the store when I called to ask about buying one.

But just a few days ago, I spoke with the LGS owner who remarked to me that I should be glad I bought when I did. Said he couldn't get his hands on one right now and didn't know when he might be able to.

Guess there is a run on shields right now. Or perhaps on guns in general. I dunno.

I think the death of Justice Scalia had something to do with this past weekend's crazy buying spree. When I went to Cabela's on Sunday, the checkout line for the gun counter was 60ft long, and they had all 5 stations open!

The waiting game continues, went to the LGS and the shield they had was special ordered and don't have anymore. They have them in order but might just go to cabelas and get it on sale which ends Sunday. Not sure how long the wait will be from the LGS.

The stores around me have had them pretty regularly as of late. They are all going in the $400-$450 range though.

The LGS, little family owned/run place has had at least one in stock since I got my LTC last year. They always have a couple in stock and on display. Mine spends more time in my safe then it does having rounds put through it. I've had it almost a year, and had a trigger job done, but only have about 500 rounds through it. Trigger job and all, the shield has nothing on my Ruger lc9s, which is my carry gun!

What's going on to cause this new Shield 9 drought???

Grabagun has them online for $375.00. I've bought one gun from them in the past and it came in perfect condition. Also a local gun store near me has 13 in stock. $379.98. So it might be an area drought.

Search slickguns or use other online engine ( search google for gun search engine). I use slickguns to get a baseline price. Shield WITH safety is aplenty.
