INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

Sunday morning at the range. 19-3 and 15-2. 19-3 is my entry this month with 4 1/16". I lost concentration with the 15-2, I do believe that is called a flyer :~) at 5 1/4". 50 ft. 2 hands, DA. I tried one handed.....won't even show that one.

Standard Loads, I may have to enter again. I had 25 rounds, so I shot 2 targets, the other one was 5 1/4". I fired the last 5 single action on a third target, that will be next months challenge.

Great shooting Stu!

David, a future suggestion. I was rummaging around my bookshelf and came up with the AMU manual and was reading about International Rapid Fire (5 rounds, 1 round into each of 5 silhouette targets at 25 meters in 4 seconds from the ready position)
and thought perhaps we could hang 3 targets at some reasonable close distance (like 7 yards) putting one round into each of the 3 each time we picked up the gun and perhaps shoot a series of 5. Just a thought. Here
is what the ISSF competition looks like Finals 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men - 2015 ISSF Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun World Cup in Gabala (AZE) - YouTube and fast forward to 7:30 and turn the sound off, they are live firing.

I haven't competed in a challenge in a while, but this is the result of shooting my latest J frame I purchased for pocket carry. The idea was to end playing musical holsters.

My 442 is still my favorite snubby shooter but the others do just fine.

Here's the best I could do: 6.9 inches. It looks like only 9 rounds but the lowest hole is a double. I hope to shoot better next month when we do the same distance but SA only.

I don't know what I have done to offend my pistol shooting skills but they seem to have deserted me.

I like Stu1ritter's idea of hanging several targets and shooting at them. Many years ago I shot the rapid fire match twice, using a S&W 41 in 22 LR. I didn't win anything, but the match was great fun. I don't know how we'd time it, or maybe it would be untimed. Perhaps some imaginative person can come up with something.

A few years ago I found a Hammerli/Walther Olympia. I really like shooting it, but I'm afraid it wouldn't qualify for this match.

Next month I and Cyrano agreed he would post the match. I am going to participate (I hope). He will also be the judge.

I have been trying to get back into one hand bullseye @ 50 feet. There are 2 teams around here. I have shot on them before.

That Hammerli looks good, but the last time I shot Bullseye it was a few years ago and I was the only oneon the line with iron sights. I even remember when dead batteries were not an allibi.

Keep shooting

One more try. I shot a couple Sporter rifle matches today. At the 50 foot range, I tried the snubby match again. First tartet I hit the holder splattering lead all over, so next target I held lower. This is what I could do.
10 Rounds DA two hands.

I was the only one there so I turned off the target lights and flew by laser. I could keep the dot in the black of the target and squeeze the trigger. Its tricky. I was resting my elbows on the table , not lookig at the revolver, only at the target. I think it needs new batteries, the dot was still dim. I fired 10 best and as fast as I could. The load was 4.5 WW231 and a 158 SWC. It felt controllable but snappy.

This target does not count for the match, I rested my elbows.

I had a box of wadcutters I was going to shoot, but decided this was enough.

Enter early enter often. :)

And the Winner for January Is:

Stu1ritter with a group of 4 1/16 inches. VERY good shooting, Stu.

Next month's match will be posted soon. Everybody get out there and shoot early and often.

February Match

Here's the February match;
10 shots, 50 feet, standing, one or two hands, no artificial support, single action.

It's the same as the January match except single action instead of double action. Maybe my groups this time won't be nearing one foot in diameter.

As David R said, there's still winter in a lot of the country and a lot of people are limited to 50 foot indoor ranges. Temps were in the 70s here, but there was a wind. I'll have to try for a still day when I shoot my targets.

Everybody welcome to compete. Shoot early and often.

Cyrano AKA Colin

Shot the match yesterday, Nothing great, but I did get out the chiefs special for a change. I also used my 637.
Pictures and results later today.
I may have to enter again, I have done better. Seems I need to get those litlte fellas out more often. I have been shooting a lot of rifle, mostly rimfire this winter.

I may have to get out the 3" 624.
Thanksfor the fun

I plan on doing some experimenting tomorrow at the range. I've just done some really low velocity loads using CFE-Pistol and Universal (quite accurate at low levels) and weighed out the boolits in one bunch and didn't in another. Want to see if there is any difference noticeable.
