INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

I don't know if your still doing the weekly ones but I shot these this afternoon, Sunday 3-6-2016.
The 2 inch model 49 from 10 yards 2 11/16ths. The 25 yards is 4 1/2 inch either way with my model 66. The 49 was my backup gun since forever and the 66 was my off duty and DB carry gun.
I just read the March match and will try that this week. The weather is going to be in the 50s.
Thanks for the fun.

Are y'all still doing these? Would my 3 inch 23 qualify for the 25 yards??

Well, I did 5 yards. I forgot the specs. That is the strangest shooting I've ever done. Just sort of walked the rounds into the center from the far right. 6.5"
Humph, can't get my photo's to load.

YES

Shoot what you have and just post it. Everybody can play.

I tried this yesterday with my Cold Lightweight officers model (3.5") I never hit the paper. I had a "group" but it was low left.

Try again this week.

**** NOT an entry*****

I gave it a shot. First I stood at 3 paces and fired 10 rounds 200 gr SWC @ 845 fps. 9 on the paper. Including the one in the backer, about a foot spread. Then I turned on the laser and fired a full magazine, 6 shots. I had a small one hole group. Then I loaded 4 more HOT ones, 1,000 fps out of my 5", so I think 925 from the 3.5". These are tough to shoot out of a lightweight officers model, so my group opened upp a little.

This is not an entry, just an attempt.

Are Lasers legal?
I never tried this until now.

Down to the wire. After about 10 tries, this is my best. 5 & 11/16ths with the flyer.
The first cylinder is no problem, but the second cylinder always has that first flyer before you reline. My old model 49 with wadcutters.

March sort of caught me unawares. First I took off 5 days to visit Charleston, SC (wonderful town, I'd sure like to go back), then got laid up for two weeks with a cold and am just feeling human again. Then the gentle March zephyrs here in west Texas can sometimes get up to 50 MPH, making range time no fun at all. It was blowing some this afternoon but I shot three targets. My best was the first at 6.2 inches. My second blew off the target stand after 6 rounds. When last seen it was headed for Lubbock, some 300 miles to the East. My last had one humongous flier. So I'll go for 6.2 inches as my entry for this month. Shot it with my trusty although somewhat battered, M&P.

And The March Winner is.....

Moosedog, with a group of 5 11/16". Congratulations Moosedog and thanks to all that shot the match or shot anything at all they posted in March. Any of the groups woud have been minute-of-bad-guy at the 'across the table' range we were shooting. The snubby is a formidable weapon.

I'll announce April's match when I get my head together and decide what to shoot.

April Match

Let's practice some marksmanship;
Course of fire: Range 12 yards. Ten shots, five with the strong hand unsupported, and five with the weak hand unsupported. Single action. Smallest 10 shot group is the winner.

Note that since the range is over 10 yards, three inch snubbies are allowed. I don't have a 3 inch snubbie, and will have to shoot my 2 inch M&P.

HA! I tried it with my 3" 624. First 5 with my right all in the black 4 touching.

Next shot with my left hand, a little out of the black. Next shot worse.....

I needed the whole paper. Must try again.

David

I found the target it wasn't so bad.
There are 15 holes.

637 wit CT grips on the right for comparison. I do have big hands.

I went and shot it again this morning. Found a very interesting factoid. It seems EVERY one of the first shots with my left hand were low, I was pushing the revolver. Sometimes, it was low from both hands. Getting old, I tell yah. So here is a target from this morning. That left hand stuff is hard on this olde body. I even brought my 3" J frame model 60 and with it I was also throwing the first round left handed quite low. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I tend to throw the first shot way right on my M36, guess I need to work on my grip. :(

I went back this morning. I tried my 637 for 3 targets and my 3" model 36. I could not see the rounded shiny sights in the low light of the range on the chiefs special. I used my right eye even with my left hand. I did get one decent out of the 5 targets with the 637.

Load was Powder coated 138 BNWC ahead of a max load of Red Dot.

2 targets only had 9 holes.
