This got me to wondering something. It has been quite a while since I have seen a new post on some schofieldkid81 grips. When I looked at his profile, he has not been on the forum for almost a year! I hope all is well!! He is very talented.

GUNS AND GRIPS, OH MY!

I'm sorry but I have liked just about every grip, and gun combination in this thread! :p:rolleyes:;)

IMG_1657_1.jpgEat your hearts out, guys :D

I'm working on a couple of magazine articles and my pal Raj Singh at Eagle Custom Grips came through with this set of elk antler panels for my 4-inch N-Frame Model 57.

Naturally, I beat feet to the range soon as they were installed to see if there is any noticeable difference between recoil with these smaller grips and the old Altamonts I've had on the gun (see images above). Yep, there's a difference, but it is not unmanageable.

I think these will be on the gun when I carry it concealed and the Altamonts will be back on for field use. These are just too pretty to be banging up in the boonies.

Frame-to-grip fit is superb and the finish is second to none. Raj has really done some interesting stuff with elk, and I can understand why Elmer Keith like the smaller grip panels on his everyday work gun, a Model 29.

One can wrap his hand around the smaller functional dimension of a big handgun.
