I find the array of photo identifiers/avatars that folks use on the forum quite interesting. Really dig the ones of people's pets. (Live in a condo ... no pets allowed. :() Been wondering for two years now what the names of DWalt's cat and WATCHDOG's myopic pooch are. (Okay, so I don't get out much.) Would be interested to hear about your avatars, especially those of old S&W revolvers and unusual subjects.

His full name is Silverhill's Beaufort Sunrise, but to all his many friends, he is simply Beau. He is now 5.5-years-old.

In October of 2010, I had spent time in Beaufort, South Carolina, visiting childhood friends at their restored 19th Century home in the Historic District. I'd sit on their upper front porch and watch the sunrise every morning.

In November of that same year, Beau came into my life, shining like that Low Country sunrise. I named him in remembrance of those beautiful mornings. He continues to brighten every day of my life.

I used this one for a while in another forum, seemed appropriate.

I settled on this one because I'm proud of my State, most of the time, and its easy to spot when scrolling to revise my posts.

No real story behind mine. It's just one of those pictures that makes me laugh every time I look at it. Not sure why, I just find it funny.
And it sorta fits the theme. All that's missing is a gold Lt. bar on the front of the helmet (to represent SO MANY former "acquaintances".)

Mine is sort of an inside joke. Some years back on this forum a certain book was very popular and a copy of it made the rounds in a running karma give away. One person would read it and then pass it on. I'm not sure how many people it went through until someone finally kept it.
My avatar is my own version of the cover art. Besides, I figure if I'm ready for this, I can handle most anything. ;)

Rocky and Bullwinkle have always been on the top of my cartoon list as well, at 60 years old I still wear a Rocky and Bullwinkle watch my kids gave me! :)

My current avatar isn't all that interesting or unusual, it's a pic of my custom Colt .38 Super in 'sepia-tone' that I think is kind of neat. To be honest I don't even remember the last time I changed it. I think the last one I had was a pic of one of my dogs that passed away a number of years ago, an alapaha bulldog named Maggie, had that one for a long time.

I did a Cagney double feature with dinner and after dinner just last night...White Heat and The Roaring Twenties!

James Cagney was a hero to little short guys like me, didn't matter to me if he played bad guys or not.

He was a major talent. Warner Brothers put him in The Public Enemy in 1931 and his career took off like a rocket.
