One of those "One-Line" .357 Magnums.....

Kris:

That's a beauty! Thanks for sharing. I too corresponded with the seller. I was not interested in purchasing the gun, but I am always interested in the RMs and his ad was so poorly worded, that I'm not sure how many RM enthusiasts would have found it. The seller seemed to be a very nice guy, but with almost no knowledge of what he had.

I am glad that it ended up with you.

Congrats!

Had to take another look at this gun when I woke up. That guy nailed those stocks. They really compliment the gun well. Congrats

Sal, yes it is.

Bill,

I like your case just as much (if not more) than the gorgeous RM you had custom case made to fit.

I met Huey only once while attending a KC Gunshow with Gary Garbrecht sometime back in the mid 1990s. We stopped by Huey's house after the show. I was given the whole tour with cases stating at the raw wood which he selects meticulously, then the cuts and shapes. interior, tools etc. Amazing ! Gary ordered another 3 or 4 cases, of course. I am rarely impressed by many a craftsman's work but Huey is a master. I don't think he gets older, rather, just keeps getting better ... no matter how ridiculous that sounds never thinking perfection could be improved upon. His work is second to none.

I have only one Huey case for one of my factory refinished Schofields that I purchased years back, accompanied with a Huey. Maybe soon I can afford a few more if I save up. LOL ! :)

Neat revolvers and that Huey case is a beauty, Huey's work is exceptional, not to many people can do work that nice.

On a completely different note, I was playing with one of those things that lets you take a picture and rebuild it in the style of another picture:

I kind of like how it came out.

Kris,

I like the look of the stocks that are on there for dress up, but if there was ever a gun that deserved a nice set of old Ropers, might not this be the gun? I would think you would have a set lurking somewhere around ;)

I'd still like to know what a collector thought a fair price was for this. I see auction prices but don't often have a chance to know what a collector would pay.

Nice gun Kris, was nice to see the RM in person at the NE Ohio bunch. You take nice pics, do you use a light box of some sort?? Do you plan on shooting it at lease one cylinder full? You usually don't come to the fall bunch but I'm sure you'll find some neat guns by then. Great catch, Larry

I made an offer based on the refinish, the fact that the pics weren't great so I couldnt tell how good(bad) it was, and the fact that he was a New seller with No Rating on the auction site. It was a "safe" number for me if the gun turned out to be not so great.

I paid low on the lower half of the 4 figure scale for the gun.

Rather an evasive answer to a direct question, was it not? Nice looking Rm and we would like to know what they really sell for. No offense intended.
Just the cost. Best to you and a nice buy. Mike 2796

You guys asked and asked again. He gave you his answer.

If you want to know what others are selling for, go look at the sold items on gunbroker.

That gun is his, he made the deal with the seller, and the selling price is really none of your business unless he wants it to be. As long is he is happy, let him be.

There are plenty that sell on gunbroker. Registered Magnums are not cheap! I have yet to see one sell in my presence for less than $2500 and several more well above that into the 5 figure realm.

A First (For Me)

Wow that is incredible!!!

I have asked several times on this forum if anyone had or had seen a pair of RMs that were consecutive in serial number and REG number. I have a pair with consecutive REG numbers but the lower REG has the higher serial number by 15. I had resigned myself to that being as close as I could get to a "double" consecutive pair. Thank for sharing these with us.

I was just asking. Wasn't trying to offend anyone. Some people are squeamish about revealing what they pay for guns. I am not. I am not shy about stating a purchase price but I get it if others are. I confess that the answer made no sense to me at all. A simple refusal would have been easier.

Auction prices are not always indicative of real world value. Two guys with deep pockets can drive an item much higher than it would normally sell.

You asked twice, so you must've wanted to know pretty badly. ;)

I chose to be discrete because some things I feel are private.

I will tell you, now that I have the gun in-hand and got to verify its condition firsthand, I feel it's worth in the $3,000-3,500 range.

I, being another curious person wanted to know what you paid.
Actually, you saying what you think the gun is worth satisfies my curiosity.
The more common guns are easy for most to guess value, it's the more exotic ones that really pique my curiosity. Thanks for giving your candid appraisal.

Caleb,

I overlooked this last part. I do have a neat set I could put on it but I really like the look of the stag.
