Summit Extra Pale Ale, brewed in Saint Paul, MN.crisp, slightly hoppy, but not overwhelmingly so.
I have taken this beer on the road and put it up against some pretty stiff competition. For example, a bunch of Colorado beer snobs armed with an impressive array of microbrews and home brews,p. almost to a man, the preferred Summit.
On another occasion, I went trail riding near Big Sky with an expatriate Minnesota buddy, his best friend from Livingston, and another guy from Arizona. After the ride, my pal asked me what was in my cooler. It was Summit and Sam Adams.
"Let's drink the Summit, those guys can drink that other ****."
My favorite change of pace is Bell's Two-Hearted, from Kalamazoo. Similar, but different.
