Is S&W doing a distributer special for a 3" K frame?

Hi Guys,

A few weeks ago I saw something on one of the distributers possibly doing a run of a 3" K frame. I can't find that info again and was wondering if anyone can provide a link?

S&W is going to release a 2.75" 66. I understand that all the distributors have item numbers for it, but as yet no stock.

I wonder why not 3" but as Dick Vitale would say "YEAH BABY!!!".

My guess is as good as yours, but I suspect 2.75" is long enough for a full size ejector rod, and short enough to look really good. The old 2.75" Ruger Speed Six revolvers look wonderful at that length.

I pre-ordered one of the new 66 models. I am goin on faith that it's going to be a great looking gun.

Anyone know if it's an ILS or "no-lock", black hammer/trigger/latch or stainless, or anything about sights offered? ie: standard, fiber optic, etc...

I sorely doubt we will ever again see new K, L, N or X frame revolvers from S&W without the ILS. I would love to be wrong about this, but to the great majority of handgun buyers, the ILS is a non-issue.

Methinks you are right. Still, never hurts to know before ordering, just so you don't feel let down. My bigger gripe is the black parts on stainless guns - makes it feel like a Philippine's made discount 1911 to me. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it were all stainless, even with the ILS and MIM.

The new M66 snub is very likely to be the same in all other respects as the 4.2 inch version.
2.75 inches is a compromise between 2.5 and 3.0 inches. With a two piece barrel, its not likely that they would offer both.
I want to see a photo. I would like to see how much barrel is beyond the shroud.
