How about a 696 platform in a new caliber .41 Special? The .41 Special idea has been around since the 1930's so in a time of small powerful CC handguns I think it's time to bring this to fruition. Lets say a 3" barrel 696 5 shot with a load of 185 grains running 950 fps.

David Clements. He is a fine workman, and seems to be a good guy, too.

I've had this gun for several years and it is the reason I had the first 50,000 piece run of Star-Line .41spl brass made.

Forcing cone

Forcing cone as requested. I use John Taffin's loads from his Six Guns page and I also use 7gr Power pistol. 5.0 to 6gr Unique is my most used load.

.41spl is now a regular cataloged offering from Star-Line. It is in stock and available, at this time.

And thanks to Dixie a few years ago, I was able to purchase some of those empties from him.. Now that Starline have the 041 Special as a regular item of commerce, the number of people who keep asking me "what is that round?" when I fire them out of one of my S&W 41 magnums, I can simply point them to Starline. Thanks again Dixie. Cheers,

What was the base gun?

What was the base gun? Was it a 686 or a 696? Barrel, made or sourced? That is way cool!!!!
