M&P M2.0

..wondering what are those ports on the frame for, to cool off the RSA? maybe attach a light? looks weird.

S&W now owns Crimson Trace. Perhaps its an attachment point for a future Crimson Trace product.

I'm curious to hold one in person; to feel what the new grip texture is like but mainly to see how the trigger feels as a "2.0" version. I have a '15 full size 9 with its standard trigger and a '16 PC Shield with it's upgraded trigger.
For me i'll be interested to see where this 2.0 trigger falls in between what i already own and am comfortable with (thanks to range time i am good with both, even though they have obvious differences).

if the texture is the same that it comes on the shield 45 IMO is great, I'm curious too about the trigger but I won't buy one just for it, all my guns have apex and I'm very happy with them. Not a fan of the LCI, it looks the box is now black, and new foam insert too.

I like what they've done. Shame I can't get it here.
I'm still not understanding the front of the frame where it looks like a bear bit down real hard on it. I get the steel reinforcement thing but I don't see how it relates to those new holes.

It's taken me half the day to figure out what, "LCI", meant.

I think they're just showing off that the front part of the dust cover has a steel core. Plus it looks "tacticool". :D

Improved grip stippling.
Eliminated the beavertail.
Improved slide stop.
Improved (PC) trigger--(lighter?) with improved reset--audible & tactile.
Almost forward slide serrations.
5" version available standard, with new tactile Loaded Chamber Indicator (LCI :) ) [Looks like it might interfere with mounting a red dot sight.]
Ambi metal mag release.
Different ejection port machining.
Steel insert in polymer dust cover to stiffen frame.
Lightened slide (narrower front top profile).
4th backstrap choice.
"Windows" in dust cover that are backed internally by the new steel skeleton, so not really windows that would allow **** into gun. Basically cosmetic, perhaps to quickly differentiate V2 visually.
Backwards compatible with mags, holsters, sights.
Different name for the same finish?

Anything else?

Not impressed. :o They better have some functional purpose in being there 'cause they sure don't add anything to the looks of the gun IMHO (other than just to be new & different). :( Same with the front slide attempt at a partial fishscale. Doesn't do a thing for me. :o Looks like a nasty machining screw-up as another member once remarked. ;)

Performance-wise, this better be a big winner because I don't think many are going to buy it just for the cosmetic changes. :o

I'll trade the frame holes for getting rid of the ridiculously large beavertail of 1.0. Seems like a net upgrade.
Can't really argue with you on that (although I can't say it ever bothered me). As you compare them side by side, that change does appear to be an improvement. ;)

The biggest question for me will be: "What's the Massachusetts-compliant trigger going to be like"? It can't possibly be worse than what we had to put up with on V1.0. :(

Damn, y'all are a harsh crowd. I personally think it looks sexy! But I'm hesitant to buy one without knowing if it's going to have the accuracy issues in 9mm like a lot of the Gen 1 M&P's do. I'm not about to drop another $200 on a M&P because the barrel lock up sucks.
