NRA car window sticker

If somebody's going to come at me hard, I really, really want them to be surprised. If you're in a fight for your life, take every advantage.

Other thing is, an NRA sticker on a car in your driveway may as well say, "Good place to burgle during the day--guns inside, make sure owner isn't home first!"

I used to put stickers on my cars/trucks in the 1980s and 1990s, then stopped for a bunch of years.
Last year I went back to putting NRA Life Member stickers back on.
Everyone who posted does have valid points - it's hard to tell what is best.

Up here in rural Idaho, you are out of place if you don't have an NRA or some sort of firearm support sticker.
Many of us wear the NRA pins on our hats.

Gotta love rural America. ;)

I see alot of Yeti stickers on cars around here. I have no idea what it's advertising? Bigfoot maybe?

To answer your question, ringo kid: What it means to me is that someone spent $8.99 for a sticker from fleabay instead of the $500 cooler it represents. Interestingly enough, the $8.99 sticker is about 1/4 of the price of a really nice Coleman cooler that doesn't have the hype of the other one, but will get the job done just as well.

A Trend of Old

I really am amazed at the way some folks use their vehicles to advertise their political or social views. Very strange...

This all started back about 1968/69 when a small clothing manufacturer in Portland, OR started putting a small "alligator" on the upper front of their Golf Shirts. With reinforcement about the same time by the unwitting help of Caterpillar Tractor Co. putting their logo on ball caps for a "gimme" hat to be given to their users. Yes, men's watch fobs had logos before this, but no one much noticed.

Before these two non related events, clothing, cars or nothing personal 'said or advertised' anything. It then became 'cool' to have a personal identifier on everyday clothing and this whole trend exploded. The unintended consequences are ever expanding. .......

Year ago Dean Grenell said he had no bumper stickers on his cars, I have followed that advice.

I sometimes ware my NRA hat, nobody has ever said anything to me but I have gotten some dirty looks.

When they do-do like I do and ask: "May I help you?" usually gets them to stop glaring and to talking-thus also getting them to see not all of us (none really) are sphincter muscles.

In other words--asking that throws them off and some times they do not know how to react since they didnt get any reaction they might want.

I have a US Border Patrol cap I wear on occasion. Awhile back I stopped on the road along side one of our reservoirs to ask a couple of Hispanic looking guys how the fishing was. When I rolled down the window to talk to them their eyes got as big as saucers. I'd forgotten that I had this hat on that day! My wife and I laughed all the way home!

I don't have any stickers on my truck. I don't know if an NRA sticker would make thieves think my truck was worth breaking into. I do have a "No Trespassing. Active Shooting Range." sign posted on the closed gate leading onto my property. That might lead somebody to believe guns were there. But the two or three hundred rounds of ammo fired there weekly might lead them to believe it better to break in somewhere else.

I would be more concerned about an NRA sticker making some cop trigger jumpy if he stopped me and approached with his gun unholstered. I would rather have my CWP surprise him when he asked for my ID. It would be better to prove I was legally carrying before he suspected I might be carrying.

I've had my vehicles broken into when I had a sticker and when I didn't have a sticker on it. There was no weapon in the vehicle, but they did toss everything around and took the usual MP3 player, GPS, and whatever pocket change was sitting in it..

To be honest, my truck just doesn't feel like itself without the decal in the windshield.. :D

Carry always, Carry safely, Carry on!
