Also, don't use duct (or duck) tape on ducts. It won't hold up. Instead, use U.L.-rated alumimun/aluminium/alunimum/aluminum foil tape.

How is Taos....

"Lenth" and "strenth" for length and strength.
"Malk" for milk. The Minnesotan "bayg" for bag, is also in use, as is "sang-wich" for sandwich.

Of course, people here can easily and properly pronounce To'hajiilee, Abiquiú, Ohkay Owingeh, Taos and Cuyamungué whereas most other American's can't, so their pronunciations of these other words are just kind of charming.

How IS Taos pronounced? I say Tah-ose almost like saying house but with a little more break between the Ta and the os.

WHAT IS WITH THIS naughty word filter? I tried putting house in small quotes but it comes out ***use'.

You say it correctly, rw. That's the Spanish way of pronunciation, and there are very many places in NM with Spanish or Mexican names. However, being mostly lazy and tending to say things the easiest way, folks generally refer to the place as "Towse". But it's pretty hard for a lot of folks to say "Pojoaque" correctly until they've heard some one else say it. It's not far from Taos. I'll try to spell it like it should sound: Po-whah-kay" with the accent on the second syllable. And then there are the Indian names in NM. Talk about some tongue twisters!!

here know it should be pronounced Boisee.

I live in LOU-a-vull. I was born in KNOX-vull. But we don't consider those mispronunciations--hell, they're our towns.

Nobody pronounces Maryland the way it is spelled. Murllund, merrilland, but never Maryland, as in merry land. Maybe there was a time way back in the late 1600's...

And here in Pa there is that soft drink thing...

My former boss giving a tour to some visitors at the federal facility I used to work at - he was telling them that the government was looking into installing a retinal scanner at the door to gain access, only he pronounced it "rectal scanner" to the visitors. He would butcher a dozen words a day, often hilariously. He had no idea he was doing it.
