Well folks I guess the old groundhog screwed us over!
Are all of you here on the East coast getting ready for the snow blizzard that is predicted starting tonight?
Twenty four years ago we got hit here with 18" of snow, and this is what they are saying we could get hit with this one!
Have to admit we didn't have much of a winter but I didn't want it all in one shot!
The nice part of this one is that I am now retired and my services will not be needed elsewhere. The last one I got snowed in at my place of employment! :(
My wife contracted one of her fellow co-workers husbands for snow removal, but my snow blower is gassed up and ready to go! ;)
So far the wife and I have our needed supplies...the usual bread, milk, eggs and toilet paper!:D
When it comes,,,Have fun,,,,but be safe! ;)

Well the weather guessers have us in the 12-20" range. (now edited to read 16-30")

I live rural and am very prepared for winter storms. My DD 4x4 has the Fisher plow on it, tractor with 42'' bucket is fueled up and ready to go. I have a 1/2 mile curvy/ hilly/ gravel driveway, so having two methods of snow removal is the smart way to go.

We have plenty of provisions including TP:) a pellet stove and a whole house generator system, and a full tank (500) of propane.

We lost power a few days ago for 18 hours in a wind storm, the generator kicked in after 1 minuet and other than having no cable or internet all was well. The are transformers or amplifiers on the cable so if street power is off we are off line also. Regular TV reception up here in the mountains is none existent so a lot of reading gets done. :D

We had more snow last year than what they're predicting for tonight. But I'm all set. Have my snacks and my beer and alcohol. Got a bunch of shows I need to catch up on. My plan is to shovel periodically to avoid having to do it all at once should it get too high.

This was from last year's storm

Having lived in the Deep South all of my life, except for my time in the Navy, the only thing I have ever seen even close to this was when I was stationed aboard the USS Springfield in Norfolk, Va. We might have had 8-10" one night but a few days later it was pretty much gone. I would like to see a large snow fall like this, but not for long. We're obviously not going to get any this year and when we do it's not much and doesn't stay around long. I've got to mow my grass again this week. Good luck to you blizzard guys.

We're looking at 1-3", if at all. Personally, I'd like an 8" just to remind everybody of what a real winter is! I need to pick the wife up after work a then retrieve her CRV from the shop. We will fill up on the way home and be ready for whatever may happen. I may be retired, but I could still use a snow day!

Yea, their guessing 12 to 18 inches at my place here in PA. Went to town a little bit ago to pick up a couple gallons of ice tea at the local grocery store. What a zoo! You guessed it - the bread / milk / egg isles were just about empty. Is that all people eat & drink during storms?

Watching the national weather map the weather patterns look like the perfect storm is forming for much of central up through the east to get dumped on big time.

Ha Tradewind I am like you. The snow is so beautiful in pictures. Keep it away from me and I am all right with snow. I grew up in Ohio and I left the snow there when I left.
