I know. I know. I know what you are going to say. However this pistol was already armaloyed when I got it. I bought it from the daughter of a deceased police officer who was liquidating her father's guns. I don't know if the barrel is original, but I don't care. It shoots like a house afire. Even with the original tiny sights. I put new springs in it and a new set of Narvadex (sp?) grips and I carried it on duty for the last four years before I retired. I often carry it as a CCW or sometimes as an open carry. People still come up to me and ask me if I know if the hammer is cocked. I just say "Yep. Just as GOD and John Moses Browning intended."

Colt 1911

Here's my 1911, from 1917. Picked it up at an auction. Story was, Grandpa brought it home from WW1. It was in a closet, forgotten, since he died in the late forties. Shows some honest wear, but everything is tight, and original, never been thru a rebuild.

Here's another. Picked this one up from a friend who had no interest. His Father had been in Patton's army in WW2 going through France. Towards the end, he traded in the one he had carried for a new issue. Got the whole kit; pistol (late war, almost mint), two issue holsters, 5 WW2 magazines, two British made mag pouches, uniforms and a sap.
