Many thanks for the heads-up! I've been considering a 327 TRR8 or M&P R8 and have heard of this barrel loosening issue. Is this common on these guns? Would I need this tool if I bought one of these 327s?

Ordered one as soon as I got the back in stock notification. My TRR8 barrel nut hasn't loosened up.....yet...but if it does I'll fix it's little red wagon ! ;-p

My TRR8's barrel nut did loosen up, so I make a wrench and plug very similar in concept to the EWK tool. Would have purchased one of these had they been available at the time!

My TRR8 is at S&W with a loose barrel. I may get one of these when it gets back just in case. I did ask Smith to check the gun to make sure there isn't an unseen issue. These are pretty $$$$ guns and it shouldn't happen.

This reminds me I need to check and see if my TRR8's barrel is loose. Other than tightening a loose barrel, is there any other need for this tool. Like cleaning or maintenance?

The only use I can see is to tighten up the nut if it comes loose.

You can adjust your cylinder gap

I asked about this on the S&W gunsmithing forum. One poster said he wouldn't try it. I don't think the S&W two piece barrel set up is like the Dan Wesson barrels. The S&W barrel nut just holds on the barrel shroud. It doesn't allow adjustment of the barrel.

I would love to have this tool.awaiting my new revolver, but EWK will not ship outside of the United States. If anybody knows of anywhere else to purchase this tool please advise me with name and website of vendor

That would be incorrect!

I had a bunch of photos on Pbucket with the whole thing disassembled and it's pretty much the same as the DW concept, except in detail. Threads on both ends. No barrel shoulder. But, like the Dan Wesson, it's not a system that can't be bollixed up by ham fisted louts.

Thank you for the clarification.
