Identify a sweet 27-2 and value?

Ran across a really nice 27-2 this weekend a buddy is looking to sell. The serial number is N382245. It's a solid 90 percent gun.

year would be mid 70's (76-77)

6in is the most common of the 27-2 run, somebody has monkey'd with the sight, it's missing it's box & goodies. I wouldn't buy at anything other than a fire sale price.

If you really want a 6in M27 I'd hold out for a better sample, they're way to common to have to buy this one. Besides you say it's a "solid 90% "...that tells me there's 10% missing, that's a lot IMO

Don't have any data in front of me right now, but I'd guess N382xxx is about 1974-75-ish

If you can get that 27 for $600-$650, both the buyer and the seller should walk away happy. any more and the seller should walk away happy.

I concur completely with the above analysis of dates and value that said as I am very well renound for paying a little too much for a gun I like (the reason all the local gun shops invited me to their Christmas get togethers) I wouldn't let a couple hundred bucks stop me from getting a gun I realy like but I do try to get the best price I just don't get hung up on the haggling too much.
