Coming from grocery shopping I pulled in to a gas station for fuel.
There were six island with two gas pumps on each side of each island totaling 24 gas pumps. This gas station was in a large store parking lot. There was a long line waiting at each island. I observed a blue sedan on the side of one island blocking two gas pumps. The gas fill up on this blue sedan was not near enough for the pump hose to reach, plus the car fill up cap was on the opposite side of the gas pumps At the rear right rear of the blue sedan were two young men with a open ice chest and both were eating sandwiches and drinking soda. when my turn came I filled up my vehicle. The young men were laughing and talking taking their time eating. They finally stopped eating, put their ice chest back in their car and left. I looked at the gas pumps on the island they were parked at and neither gas pump had been used. The store parking was almost empty. These two young men could have parking anywhere 30 feet away from the gas pumps and not tied up two gas pumps.

There is certainly no shortage of oxygen thieves in the world.

I recently saw a lady in a grocery store going through all the boxes of strawberries to pick out the best ones. She packed as many as possible into one box. When I mentioned it to a store employee, they said they couldn't tell her anything because she might not shop there. He wasn't pleased about it either. It is still theft, because they are priced by the box and not by weight.

modern ethics for many is basically a lack of respect and consideration for others.

years ago i was walking by a busy boat ramp and some fool had launched his boat and was sitting in his boat fiddling around and rigging his tackle and doing other things he should have done before he launched his boat or after he was out on the lake with his truck and trailer still sitting on the ramp while a long line of boaters were waiting to launch their boats.
i watched for several minutes while everyone patiently waited for that fool. if i was waiting in that line i would never have stood for that.

There's nothing modern about it. There've always been people like that. It does seem to be more widespread now, though.

You outght to see it here during the summer, we only have two gas stations, and all the boaters go to one, they pull up to the pumps with a 4 door truck with a 27 ft boat blocking everyone, they gas up the boat and truck, then go inside buy 10 bags of ice, sandwiches, soda, coffee and snacks, there is only 4 pumps and its tight.[emoji46]

Super jerks abound....

There are these two guys on motorcycles around here and it was a regular thing to see around here. They weren't kids....grown men. The would wait at an on ramp for about a half dozen cars to go ahead and get strung out . Then they take of like a shot, one on the right, another on the left and do a 'Thatch weave" with both of them crossing in front of any behind every car.

If I could catch them, I wouldn't say, 'Don't do that', I'd tell them that they really need to GROW UP.

There are more and more people who watched the TV sho '*******' and try to think of the most asinine things they can do to people.

Remember it's the negative experiences that stand out in your mind, not the 98% of people who are courteous and play by the rules.

Of course, I don't include places like Philadelphia or NYC in my polite group.

The 2% are everywhere, I live in an Ivy League university town, plenty of inconsiderate people with Phds. I go to New York and Philly now and then, haven't noted any real difference.

As a youth my dad took us out to the Red Onion restaurant in Aspen. One of the few places I had ever been that had a waiting line. My dad said there was 6 of us and we waited. A person with a back east accent worked his way to the head waiter and said he needed a table for six as well. Just then a waiter came over and said a table for 6 had just became available. This newcomer loudly said, I will take that table. The waiter said there was a party of 6 ahead of him. Rudely he proclaimed again he wanted the table. My father who was never short of words or wit said quite loudly to the waiter, "go ahead and give him the table. I was raised on a farm and we always fed the pigs first". The man turned beet red and stormed out. The waiter grinned and showed us to our table.

My wife is handicapped, so when we go somewhere we park in one of the designated spaces. I've seen people at Walmart, for example, leave their carts in those spaces rather than put them in the cart space right across the lane. I guess they are ticked off thinking handicapped people are "privileged." I don't know about most, but my wife would gladly park at the far end of the parking lot if she had the privilege of walking without issues.

She also uses the electric carts when we go in a store, if they are available. I've seen kids zooming around the store in them, obviously playing. I wish store management would do something about that, since obviously their parents have no consideration for others.

I see that all the time at wally world too. Just last night I pushed a cart out of the way with my front bumper. It was cold, raining and I was in a very irritable mood. The basket moved to where I wanted it-out of everybody's way. Whoever the lazy person was that left it there? I HOPE" gets an infection of 1,000 fleas infesting their armpits-a deviation of the old arab insult.

Jerks like these live a long life to irritate others.

If you remember and dwell on them they win forever.

Bluntly forget such people, only put the screws to them when you can...

I was waiting for the elevator in my office building.
Two co-workers walked in and waited along side. Both were wearing jackets with "XYZ Computer" company logo and they were chatting.
The woman, about 40, was holding half a dozen computer keyboards.
The man, about 25 had his hands in his pockets.

I asked the woman, "Can I get those for you"?
She smiled and said "No thank you."

I looked at him and asked,"Are your hands cold?"
He replied, "Huh?"

I said, yeah, I thought so.

I'm betting he is still shaking his head wondering what I meant.

At the YMCA we go to, there are always people sitting at the machines chatting. Or working their thumbs on one of those (expletive deleted) cell phones.
They do it in the locker room too.

Now I know that there's always been inconsiderate poop heads but it just seems like it's getting more noticeable.
Maybe it's just because I'm a bit older and getting curmudgeonly.

Locker room at work is a bit tight and serviced by one 6 ft. bench so three people max can sit where anywhere from 6 to 10 coexist at shift change. Folded clothes while showering and cell phones abound where there is room in the locker. If they're present I'll make like my sweaty butt is coming in for landing on their stuff.
