Considering 2.0 in .45 Advice?

I really like my Shield 2.0 and my M&P92.0. So now I'm considering one in .45 to go with a Sig 220 in .45 I pick up this weekend. I like having the hammer-fired Sig in both 9 and .45 and would like to do the same with a striker-fired M&P pistol.

LGS is asking $540 otd ($490 plus), GB has one with a safety (I like safeties) for $430...plus tax here in WA, FFL and shipping puts it $525ish. So the prices are close.

Are those fair prices? Anyone see one cheaper?

The Sig (and M&P) will be my first .45s in 15 years. Just got some bullets....and I'd forgotten how big they are compared to 9mm! A lotta lead.

I like to shop and I'll be looking for a good value gun. I'd got with a 1.0 M&P but the last 9mm 1.0 I had...the trigger wasn't all that great. I'll have to check price differences between the 1 and 2 to see if the 2 is worth it. Anyone with any experience with both of them?

I picked up the full size 2.0 .45 with safety last summer for around $440 with free shipping, then $25 for transfer if memory serves me right but here in Illinois I then got a $75 rebate,(instead of that mag loader and ammo), so it was a pretty good deal.
Whatever you end up paying, it's a great pistol, accurate, reliable, and a very nice shooter.

Just ordered a Shield .45 2.0 from Buds Guns at $ 408.00 with no safety and I think the one with safety was a little less .
Unfortunately S&W sent out 2.0's with the original slides . In other words the slide on my gun ( and a friends ) came in today with the old slide and no marking anywhere that said 2.0 !
A very helpful young lady at Buds got a S&W rep on a three way call and we ironed it out Returning those two guns to Buds and waiting for the correct versions to appear .
Wonder how many incorrectly assembled guns are floating around ?

I just purchased my .45 2.0 no safety about three weeks ago. Paid $422 shipped and $20 transfer fee.
I have only had a chance to get out once with about 200 rounds through it, and just love this pistol. No problems and very accurate first time out.
Of course the grip is more aggressive on the 2.0 vs the 1.0, which I personally like, but I was quite surprised with the difference in the 2.0 trigger, much better in my opinion.

JUST BUY IT .
The 45 2.0 is the most accurate bone stick 45 I've ever tested in the ransom. The accuracy with handloads which is all I shoot , is under 1" @ 25 yards. The stippling , ergonomics, mags are interchangeable with my 45c. 14 round mags are super cheap and actually work unlike sigs. Not to mention reliable. What more could you want. I am actually going to fit a barsto barrel in the 2.0 45 tonight. I'm anxious to see if the barsto can out shoot the factory barrel ? In the ransom rest of course.

Well, that's your opinion, of course. I have a Shield 45, and I really like it. Granted, it's too big for pocket carry (except perhaps in cargo pants) but for IWB/OWB I think it's great. I've owned a 45c, and it is a good gun...but the standard mags hold 8 rounds (IIRC, you can use the full size mags in it too) while the Shield 45 holds 6 or 7 rounds. I feel fine with 6 rounds in the pistol, and two 6 round mags as backup. It works just fine as my EDC.

There's a reason we have choices...not everyone likes the same thing.

With regard to features, I'm pretty sure the original Shield 45 that many of us own was already essentially a 2.0 model; it came with the upgraded trigger and the new style stippling. In other words, with regard to features, there never was a 1.0 Shield 45.

The Shield 45 was released before the first 2.0.

The 2.0 .45 is a full size gun with a 4.6" barrel and 10rd capacity.

This thread still brings up a point I'd like clarified. Is there any difference between the Shield 45, and the Shield 45 2.0; Other than the 2.0 stamping on the slide?

The 2.0 Shield just has the 2.0 on the slide and an increased price. After the rebates of 2017, S&W needed a way to distinguish the post rebate pistols from the original 45. Now that the 2.0 models are all together they can move to improve the group.
