3 inch 66 with checkered Spegel Boot Grips.................

Sorry no pictures..............................

picture a 3 1/2" N-frame w/ flush fit grips------ butt to barrel proportions are the same

Kinda like this but with Spegels? Yeah, that would be a looker.

Spegel extended boot grips on a 586 and this is about my 6th most favorite. :D

My Ruger Custom 38-40 Vaquero. Grashorn Sheep horn grips, customized EPS rig, matching Bowie. Conchos are Indian Head pennies.

A group pic of the Bowie, Vaquero, and an original 1892 Winnie (takedown short rifle in 38-40==peeking in at the top). The Winnie is also case hardened and engraved.

(Note: In the pictures, the (older) conchos are Mexican coins)

Of course, nothing matches the quiet elegance of Colt SAA 45's with one-piece real ivory.

The answer depends upon proper context...

If you are asking in terms of factory S&W revolvers, then My JM625 (picture 1). If you are asking in terms of custom S&W revolvers, then I have to say one of the custom guns Hamilton Bowen built for me on Model 58s and 520s (picture 2). If you are asking of brands other than S&W (regardless of price) then I have to say my Super Grade custom Ruger Bisley Blackhawk by John Linebaugh (picture 3). And if you asking for the best looking utility or working gun then my Linebaugh custom stainless Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in 45 Colt (picture 4) which shoots 1.5" groups at 50 yards with full power ammunition. Utilitarian simplicity has its own standards for beauty.

I LOVE 8 3/8", AND 4" FULL UNDERLUG SMITHS, AS WELL AS 4" MOUNTAIN GUNS, AND SNUBBIES. ONLY THE 6" LENGTH, DOES NOT ATTRACT ME.. ....

Thought I could answer quick. First is my model 19, 4 inch. But then there is my 686P I carry. But love the beauty of my old Belgium made Browning Hi-Power one of my few autos

Aesthetically pleasing? This one:

That's the main reason I bought it, looks. It doesn't hurt that it has the second best trigger of any gun I own.

Wish I could like this more than once. Love the birds head grip style revolvers! Especially in that barrel length.

It is hard to pick just one and to those that have posted their choice, wow!

I rescued this one from my LGS a few years ago, cleaned it up, tossed the goodyears added a set of Mr. Gashorn's fine grips and a black Tyler grip to boot. It has been posted before and here it is again.

Mod. 66-2, 2.5" in all of its glory!
