What is your most aesthetically pleasing revolver?

Probably a 1942 Mauser HSc that came back from WWII. It has the original holster that has some markings suggesting it was issued to someone working in a hospital in Germany.

EDIT: Guess I should've noticed the "revolver" part in the OP.

To my eye there is nothing so elegant as an S&W Model 3, .44 Russian.

I'm also in the boat with a few others regarding aesthetically pleasing revolvers. I love the ones with the been there done that look. Two of my favorites are an M&P snub and a S Prefix 28-2.

And if I had to pick a nice gun, it would be a P&R 66 snub.

There are 3 revolvers that are very aesthetically appealing to me, unfortunately I don't own any of them. They are, in this order:
1 S&W Mod 10 4" Pencil Barrel in blue
2 Colt Generation 1&2 Detective Special 2"
3 S&W Mod 29 6.5" Barrel in blue
Normal wear & tear, holster rash of no concern. These are pure classics to me.

I guess after some careful debate with myself, I'll have to go with my Nickel 4" Model 19-3 from 1973 with Target Hammer and Target Trigger.

Now, You you may get lucky buying a USFA. Sometimes the stars align and you may get a bargain.

I won my SAA in a German auction site (Egun) for under 1 grand. I was the only bidder.

Have owned K, L, and N frames. Have owned .38's, .357's, .44's and .45's. Have owned revolvers in four and six inch barrels. Have not yet owned a snub-nose ... though that will probably change in the hopefully near future.

The most aestetically pleasing revolver I own is my 18-3. I bought it back in 2000 at a gunshow in Albany, GA. The seller was an aquaintance who was selling off his guns as he prepared to face an untimely end due to terminal cancer. I bought the 18-3 b/c I wanted it badly in spite of the at that time little bit higher than normal price. That gentleman died later that year. The revolver I still have and still positively adore! It wears a pair of smooth presentation grips that I received from a member of this board as a karma. It is the most accurate revolver I've ever fired SA or DA out to 25/50 yds. In fact, I've used this revolver w/ CCI Mini-Mags to do some seriously decent shooting at oil bottles down at the 100 yd. mark shooting behind a church member's barn. It shows that it has been loved. The finish is worn on the ejector rod. There are some slight handling marks on various places on the frame. There is no wear on the barrel. It is a breath takingly accurate pleasure to shoot. It is a joy to my eyes. One day ... I will fin a Bianchi 111 Cyclone holster for it. Then, the world will be all right! Sincerely. bruce.

Colt New Service Model 1909 .45. The generous amount of remaining factory blue finish makes any blued Python eat dirt.


I like blued guns best of all but this Model 57 demands attention.
