Definition of an arsenal

If he'd kept his mouth shut......

....i don't know of anything he's done that's illegal, unless it was pistol ammo. If he's an adult, (18) he's allowed to have the body armor. (I'm not sure about PA.) I've got a feeling this story is going to die fast.

Many years back my brother made a suicide vest for Halloween with the dynamite and wires and all. Funny how that wasn't a big deal back then, but a clever, well executed idea. I don't think he's worn it in the last 30 and some odd years.

I know that I certainly have an arsenal here. I've got compound bows and arrows, an ice pick, axe, chain saws and many other instruments of death in my garage. And a lot of knives in my kitchen. I even have an Upula loader.:eek::eek:

Here's the problem:

"He told a fellow student, 'Don't come to school on May 1 because I'm going to shoot up the school,' and then he said, 'I'm kidding,'"

Can't say that in these times. Like saying "bomb" in the TSA line or shouting "Fire" in a crowded theater.

of course that's a problem, i'm not questioning that.
my point was pointing out another case of the news media's attempt to sensationalize a situation to provoke people and push their agenda.

This is why I keep my stuff out of sight in safes so that my collection doesn't get splashed on the front page of the local paper in case I have a fire. I'd rather the local n'er-do-well up the street not know what I have.

I always thought an arsenal was a PLACE, where armaments are kept or made. Arsenal does NOT mean the armaments located in the arsenal.

Arsenal - Wikipedia

I hate sloppy language.

Especially from people paid to use words!!

An arsenal is anything imagined in the mind of a fevered media reporter.

So much this.

I'm not going to totally blame the media. The police and prosecutors write press releases to making things sound a certain way to effect the future prosecution of the crime.

I've seen the police in a press release describe a couple of .22 rifles and a bb gun along with a brick of .22 shells as an arsenal and large cache of ammunition found in a drug bust.

The media being lazy just repeat whet they get from officials especially when it fits their narrative.

Thinking back to the recent past it seems one of our esteemed leaders (it might have been the fireworks queen?) publicly opined that an arsenal could be as little as 2-3 guns and 1,000 rounds of ammunition. I’ve always liked that definition since a citizen of even modest means can in time acquire and maintain their own “arsenal.” Very American, I’d say. :)

And to inflate what they hope is the public’s perception of the importance of their high office, their diligence to their duties, and (gag) their concern for the general welfare of their constituents... :D

According to media.
Two rusted air rifles and a non working water pistol.

The term arsenal like the terms assault rifle, cop killer bullets. Saturday nite special etc. are terms concocted by the antis and reinforced by the mainstream media to create a negative image of the owner or the item itself. Accuracy is NOT their goal but rather inflaming opinions in the generally not knowledgeable general public is what they strive to accomplish. How many of you have explained over and over why an AR 15 is NOT a military grade weapon only to have what you've stated ignored?
