I just got a 686 and the grips feel a bit narrow and would like
to put a pair on that fills my hand better ..

Any suggestions would be very helpful ..

Am mainly looking for a set of wood grips but might consider rubber also .. would like a pair with out finger placement just plane and smooth no checkering ..

Thanks for the HELP !!!!

Will grips for an N Frame fit on a 686 ?? And are they larger in girth then the original grips ?? Altamont has some very nice ones in the N Frame size ..

Ordered a set from Altamont so should get them in a week or less .. almost a local company for me ..

Trying to figure out how to post a pic from my phone ..

I FAVOR AHRENDS SMOOTH, TACTICAL CONVERSION GRIPS, ON ALL OF MY ROUND BUTT, S&W REVOLVERS. THEY CONVERT THE ROUND BUTT FRAME, TO SQUARE BUTT GRIPS.....

THEY ARE REASONABLY PRICED, ARE AVAILABLE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF WOOD. THEY OFFER GREAT GUN CONTROL, AND RECOIL MANAGEMENT. FINISH AND FIT IS SUPERB, IMHO......

The pair I ordered is S&W K Round ALTAI Super Walnut .. I see how they fit before ordering another set .. The Gray/Black set is very impressive looking .. they might be next ..

Finally got to shoot my NEW 686+ PC this afternoon ..

50 rounds of American Eagle 357 158 grain jacketed soft points ..velocity 1240 .. 1190 @ 25 yards ..

50 rounds of Winchester Train and Defend 130 grain 38 Special FMJ .. muzzle velocity 900 ..

5 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense with FTX Bullet .. 125 grain .. muzzle velocity of 1500 fps .. 1301 @ 50 yards .. all 5 opened completely and was stopped in the 4th milk jug filled with water shoot thru 2 layers of denim ..widest was .600 with the average being .585 all 5 very close in size ..

Shot slightly low about 2 inches below my aim point all standing off hand in about a 15 mph wind shooting mostly SA .

Can already tell I am going to really like this one .. new set of grips should help .. will fill my hand more ..
