My name is Charlie, I'm a retired Chicago Police Homicide Detective and a Marine Nam vet.

Have been packing daily now for going on 50 years, have owned several S&W pistols and revolvers over the years carried most all of them on the street as a P.O.

Currently don't own any S&W firearms but plan on purchasing the new Shield 2.0 9mm in a couple of days.

My current crop of pistols is a Walther PPQ M2 9mm, Walther PPS M2 a Glock 43, Glock 42 a Ruger LC9s pro and a Ruger LCPII.

I plan on trading in or selling the G43 to get the new Shield 2.0. I looked at my LGS a couple of days ago and will test shoot a rental at another LGS tomorrow.

Welcome aboard from the sunshine state. Keep us posted on your smith purchase. My next in line up will be a sheild in 45 3.3.

P.S. Test shot a rental Shield 2.0 today, and it wasn't even the 2.0, it was the original Shield, all I can say is WOW! With the 8 round mag it fit my hand like a glove, trigger wasn't quite as easy as the 2.0 I dry fired at another store, but really good, better then my Glock 43 and Walther PPS m2, not as smooth and crisp a break as my Ruger LC9s pro, but shot a hell of a lot better.

In fact I had tighter groups with this pistol over any sub-compact 9mm I have ever shot and it was dead on, and the recoil surprisingly much milder then my 43. This pistol is sweet and I plan to pick one up in the next two days!
