Another 66 Snubbie

For as many 66s as SW made, they just don't show up like you'd expect them too. Folks just hang onto them and use 'em. I was surprised how well my short barrel 66 shot, within a couple of points of my 4" 66 that I've had since 1977. Both happen to be no dash and my former duty sidearms.

You did most well.

There's one on a local buy/sell site now for $945 with the box and stuff.

Last one I got was a 2.5" dash 2 I traded a new 629 3" deluxe plus got $150 cash. I kept the fancy wood grips, and the box.

You did most well! :D

With some exceptions I find the box more of a PITA - I always feel obligated to babysit for the next owner. I don't want the added responsibility. :D

Didn't try to polish out the scratches, just enough to clean it up. Had a spare set of Ahrends maple, retro tactical stocks - not a fan of rubber.

Wow! Those look awesome. Is that black walnut on nickel?

They are actually Cocobolo. I usually think of that as being more red. I took a crappy cell phone photo earlier today I'll share. The pattern in the wood is great. Thank you. Have a great Christmas. My birthday was a couple weeks ago. Culina grips were happy birthday to me.....

The craftsmanship is incredible. Very nice!

Hey Cellar Hound and Bikertrash. Who made your grips/stocks? Gorgeous on all of your guns.

Mine are Culinas as well. Beautifully and very well made, and the only grips worthy of my 3" Ashland and a pristine 2-1/2" future gift to my firstborn grandson ( when he gets of age obviously ). I stumbled into it on the day he was born, Dec. 31 2010.

Mine is a late 66-1 recessed cylinder but barrel is not pinned. It was a western Kansas SO issue for years before I got it. Has the electro pencil engraving to show for it.

It just doesn't get much better than a Mod. 66 with a 2.5" barrel!

My 66-2, wearing a pair of Mr. Gashorn's fine elk stag grips and the 66-5, wearing a pair of Altamont combats.

Hard to beat this breed for utility or curb appeal...

I'm still looking for one at a reasonable price. $900 doesn't seem reasonable to me yet...
