Blimey! Squirrel for dinner.

We ate squirrel often when I was a lad and I have the notion I still should. Too many of them around the house is not a good thing. Interesting article. Thanks for the link! :)

"The rise in popularity is believed to stem from diners' growing interest in sustainable, cruelty-free food, which sees them turn to "wild meat" from animals which would have been culled anyway."
There you have it. From England no less. Hunting produces Cruelty free sustainable food.
(Here is where I drop the mike and walk away) :D
Query: Do the English suck the brains out???

It seems that every meat, but for beef and pork, tastes like chicken.

Hubby's favorite coffee mug.

My buddy and I squirrel hunt one to two days a week in season. We clean and freeze them until we have 50-60 ready. Some of the locals out where we hunt take every single one.

We come back with more stories than meat but isn't that what hunting is about anyway?

And Bigwheelzip, where can I get a couple of those mugs?

You have hubby's sense of humor?

We found it at a few years ago at a souvenir shop up in Highlands NC.

A quick search found this website that offers them. There are probably other outlets as well.

Bears Love People Lovely Mug - Tree Free Greetings

Outstanding...

I have some AT hikers in my Bible Study that would appreciate a good bear mug. And your husband sounds like a great guy.

scramble them with eggs

I don't know about that, but I do know that some people here in the states scramble them with eggs...you have to be careful though so you don't get "mad squirrel disease"...very similar to "mad cow disease"...I have not tried them though as it is not worth taking the chance on becoming a babbling idiot...although I do have to say that squirrel is my favorite wild game...delicious...I just DON'T eat the brains...
