I was bored of buying Glock Pistols but do like the fact nobody has ever complained bitterly about Glock's trigger.
Well, that's the first time I've ever read anything like that about a Glock trigger, although you did say "complained bitterly" rather than just complained.
In fact, the trigger, grip "hump" and cheap sights are the most complained about features of the Glock handgun design on about every shooting forum I've ever frequented including the Glock forums. I have no idea how many different companies make Glock replacement triggers, or trigger parts, but there a number of them. And the Glock fanbois always tout the huge number of replacement parts as a desirable feature of the Glock, which I've never understood. If a Glock is so perfect why do so many people replace so many parts on their Glocks?
I'm a Glock fan and a 20+ year Glock owner of numbers of different sizes and models in four different calibers. But, never a fanboi since I'm not brand loyal to any gun company and am very reality based about what I see as the shortcomings of the Glock handgun.
I'm not sure how many Glock 19s I've owned over those years, but I've owned various ones since shortly after they were introduced and I've carried G19s more over the years than any other handgun. It's been a good model for me.
I've now had my 2.0 Compact in 9mm over a year and don't really know how many hundreds of rounds I've shot through it, but I shoot it a bunch and I like it a lot.
In fact, were it not for the years accumulation of G19 magazines, holsters and various spare parts I would just sell the two Glock 19s and buy another 2.0 Compact.
So to answer you question "Did you guys look at the Glock 19 before buying the MP Compact"? Yeah, years worth of looking and using. I like my Glock 19s, but I like the 2.0 compact a little better.
OP, I wouldn't put much stock in any magazine article. Gun writers are just people and they often have their own prejudices and bias toward or against some handguns. In the case of the article which said the 2.0 has a lousy trigger I would say that author got a bad sample gun or is just plain full of it. My trigger is not lousy and in fact is better than any stock Glock trigger I've owned. As always, the words like good, better, best or lousy are subjective and difficult to quantify.
Since you've already bought it I hope your 2.0 turns out well for you.
