MP COMPACT 9MM OR GLOCK 19

In the almost 5 years since the original post, the OP has moved on to Sig vs. Beretta vs. Glock 43 vs. Walther PPS vs. CZ P-10, with a few references to the Tavor thrown in. Not clear if he still has the 9c 1.0 that started all this...

Well, Rats.

Had I noticed the date of the original post I wouldn't have wasted my time in giving an answer.

The thread is still valuable for anyone currently trying to decide between the two.

I own a Glock 19 Gen 4 and the previous version of the M&P 9C, not the 2.0. The 9C 2.0 is said to have an improved trigger over the original 9C and is more the size of the Glock 19.

As for the triggers, I don't see much difference in them, but I'm not an expert shooter. I'm wondering if the OP didn't somehow get the Massachusetts compliant version, because that one does have a heavy trigger. My 9C doesn't.

I like my M&P better than my Glock 19.

They both have good reputations for reliability so I'd suggest that anyone on the fence try both if you can and just go with the one you like better.

Both pistols use stamped mass produced parts. If you take the time to smooth and polish the contact angles it vastly improves the trigger. In my Shield 45 I replaced the sear with an Apex. Huge difference in feel. In my Glock 19 I replaced the striker spring with a 4.5lbs. Huge improvement in smoothness.
