Ian, Norm Flayderman was an honored guest at our local gun club (Palm Beach Gun Collectors' Club now known as "Palm Beach Historical Arms Collectors Assn.") at every Christmas dinner in years past.
He and I entered into a few, in-depth "conversations" about his evaluation of antique firearms which excluded bore and mechanical function as a consideration in value.
As a master mechanic I argued (er ... "discussed") the mechanical condition and bore are equally, if not more important, as all other considerations when evaluating.
It was always difficult to ascertain what was his "personal" collection and what was his inventory for sale.
Other than the Flaydermans' Antique Guns price guide he printed mailers.
Watch ebay and other auction sites for Flayerman's (i think quarterly) printed sales offerings.
Next time you visit I'll show you about appx 20 of the mailers plus every edition of his price guide, personalized to me.
I pondered that your 6" American SN: 1707 might have possibly be listed in one of those old mailers but who knows how many decades ago. That would be a lengthy research project with no guarantee you will find it listed, however, you will learn much in the process of reading those old mailers.

Ah, Mr. Norm was a saint to us new guys back in the 1960s.
All ways a smile and an honest answer, and usually a free catalog to drool over at home. He is missed like a lot of the ole timers.

Just wanted to share this with the S&WCA members. One crossed my path in 2013 from retired Palm Beach County head Inspector FBI assigned to Palm Beach Sheriff's Office (and friend), Louie Lee (retired appx 20 years). This one was from his family. Louie Lee's GGGGrand Father (or there about) with last name or "Register" who was a Confederate in the capacity of what now would be known as a Chaplin.
The other about 25 years ago from U.S. Air Force retired Lt. Col. Steve Hunt. Sal
PS: Our home nicknamed for my "twin sons" ... in Italian ... "Fratetlli Gemelli" Raimondi added fo, who will be 26 in March 2020.

I don't know if this was something Norm had a personal attachment to
but it eventually was a cover item for catalog 42 and a special item
to me. Still looking for the model 1 barrel and cylinder prototype - surely
someone still has that! But where is it?
