Bump Stock etc... "Banned"!

Reference my earlier post. I'm still waiting for any forum member to give me one plausible excuse why they think they need a bump stock. And please not the lame "infringement on my 2nd amendment right" excuse. C'mon; just one good reason is all I ask.

The ammunition manufacturers loved the bump-stockers. Way more ammo down range means more sales, hence profits.
No one needs anything more than a safe place to sleep, food and water, right? Makes for a boring existence if one only can have the basic necessities for life. You know the whole "PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS" thing?
No one needs to hunt for meat anymore, so should that be banned?
No one needs a boat, really. Since most only get wet when it rains.
No one needs a backyard pool, or even a bathtub. Come on who wants to steep in filthy bathwater when a shower works so much better?
I could go on but if you refuse to see the point, well then never mind.

I guess I don't understand why threads like this, about subjects like this, are started.

Why do we let ourselves get caught up in them?

We all know that we are prohibited, on this great forum, from discussing political topics, when In fact, the subject of politics is exactly what we all want to discuss. We all know the answers to the problems being presented for discussion, as well as the solution to those problems.

We all know, that no amount of knowledgeable talk will solve those problems, so, why discuss it, knowing full well that it won't matter anyway?

I choose not to participate, and to move on, to something that doesn't involve politics.

The way it was explained to me, the 2a forum is the one and only place that the no political discussion rule is somewhat relaxed. 2a is political by nature, so there cant be a 2a forum without some political discussion. Regarding your comment that we all know the answers and solutions to these problems, I would say that answers and solutions are not a cut and dry universal truth. When I look at your post on the subject on 5/18, I can say with certainty that not everyone will accept your answers and solutions, hence the discussion. Most (myself included) feel the 2a is the foundation that holds it all together. Others think its of minor importance, subject to the political whims of the day, so its going to generate a lot of healthy debate.

It really has nothing to do with "need" or "want", Trump set a horrible precedent with his Executive Order circumventing the checks and balance system that was set up by our fore fathers. Now when (if this stays) we get an anti-gunner President, he or she can simply ban ALL FIREARMS with an Executive Order based on this precedent, and that's the real problem here.

I'm really curious. Who explained it that way to you?

Before you try your luck any further with that concept, you might want to take a look at Post #15 in this thread...especially the part about, "Remember, we don't do general political discussion and commentary." And maybe Post #20 in this thread. Then there's always Post #3 in this other thread.

This is just a suggestion on my part, you understand. An opinion.

Anyhow, it ain't nuthin' to me, cause it won't be me who tells folks not to talk politics here

I understand the rules. My comment was a reply to someone that couldn't understand why this thread is here, because its political, which it technically is. But if the rules were enforced as unwavering and absolute as you suggest they are, then the 2A forum couldn't exist. That's the point I was trying to make. As for who told me, he can speak for himself if he has a mind to, I'm sure he is reading these comments, and knows what he sent me in a private message.
