My EDC 442-1 is getting worn from draw training, dry fire training, and live fire. It has a perfect Nelson Ford Trigger job. I don't want to wear it down it's my favorite carry piece.

Enter the 642-1 to take over dry fire, draw, reload, and live fire training.

Just waiting on it's altamont boot grips in silverblack to arrive to be a perfect but lighter shade replica.

Won't have Nelson work this girl over, she's gonna get enough work with all I will train with her.

Also anyone got any ideas ion how to touch up that barrel? I tried birchwood casey alumi-blue and their normal blue, Neither works. Even after heating up barrel and multiple coats. Gotta be something that does. Thanks!

Well, if you had to do it, then that's a good companion to the 442! :-)

I doubt you could put enough dry fires on that 442 to actually wear it down, but that's a good reason to get another j frame anyway. That barrel is steel; this is the best cold blue I've used. 3-4 passes should do the job. That looks like honest wear; honest wear gives character. I am a j bird fan too, sure there's lots of semis that have more capacity and all but blah, blah, blah...they don't have souls like J frames. Here my latest

I know it won't "wear down" this but it has a real nice trigger job and I want to ensure it's always reliable by not shooting it anymore. And shooting the secondary one. Carrying my primary. Just me giving myself a reason to purchase another wheelgun, as if I need a reason :D

I will try the cold blue thanks for the suggestion. It is prematurely worn due to a kydex holster which is gone now) leather only from now on) and lots of -draw-dry fire- speed reload(strips or loders)-dry-fire - reload - reholster - repeat practice
