Korth NXR 44 Magnum

Do I really understand this right, you have not shot a Korth but you have an opinion?
Well I own a 4" and a new 5.25" with vent rib barrel National Standard (Mongoose) made in Lollar Korth so yes I am entitled to an opinion. I have not shot a NXR .44 Magnum and I doubt you have either.
I'm not really into buying used guns that have had no telling how many owners and no telling how many rounds fire through them. Even a Ratzenberg Korth.
Were just having a discussion here no sense in getting bent because someone doesn't worship at the altar of the Ratzenberg Korth. You have a
very nice collection but the Ratzenberg Korths I have seen are well used and I would not consider buying one for that reason. Would rather a new production.

I never understood the desire to be limited to new production stuff. So many fine guns/classics you can't own. To the contrary, I rarely buy new guns. Most are very cheaply made and so boring to boot.

Just my opinion. To each their own...

This is exactly how I feel. Why should I limit myself to new guns only? Where would I have found a High Power T-series, or a rimfire Walther PP made in Zella Mehlis, or my 147E Merkel SxS, the Luger P.08? Besides of the substantial savings from buying used, I can usually diagnose and fix most problems easily myself.

Exactly. In my former post I just wanted to find out your level of expertise and first hand experience with both Korth manufacturers and not be worshipping at any manufacturer's altar. The Ratzeburg Korths are just a small area of my collecting and shooting interest.

I am still under the impression that you are opinionated against Ratzeburg Korths without first hand experience, as it has become typical for internet forums. I have seen and handled many more Korths than I own and did extensive research, including visiting both factories and am well aware of the differences in production and have never made any negative remark about the Lollar Korths. I think that the Webers took the necessary steps to keep the Korth name alive and on the road to commercial success, something Willi Korth and all other owners failed to do. I have always clearly stated that my preference for Ratzeburg Korths is a personal decision.

So please do not put words into my mouth that I never said.

I'd take a vintage S&W 29 every day of the week over that thing. Looks like it's mfg'd by one of those companies that specializes in Gucci Glocks.

I love the term "Gucci Glock". To me other than better sights and getting rid of the finger grooves (ok maybe a better barrel) that folks do to a Glock is putting bright red lipstick on a pig.

Glocks work and I don't have the hebbie geebies shooting one but in my opinion they are one of the ugliest common production firearms out there.

Sorry for the thread drift but just had to comment on Gucci Glocks.

And I am under the impression You are opinionated towards Ratzenberg Korth. That's fine you like the ratzenberg and I like new production Lollar. We are both happy. What could be better. If I ever find a Ratz Korth from the original owner in as new shape I might buy it. As stated the ones I have seen are well used and I won't buy them for that reason.
I bought two HK P7M8 but they were both from the original owners and had not been fired since leaving the factory and each had the purchase receipts.

Looking at that Korth contraption, I'm reminded of a film I saw back in the 80's. What was that Arnold said to the Predator when he first took off his mask?;)

Janz Revolvers

If one prefers the original stylings of the Willi Korth revolvers, a newly made alternative are those made by Janz.
This company arose out of the efforts of a late era Willi Korth apprentice.

They not only chamber for 44 magnum, but also do 454 Casull!

Here's there website:

A Korth is a Korth of Korth of Korth.

Great looking gun minus the barrel. I'm sure it'll make a fiiiine shooter,

Wow checked out the website. Beautiful guns, more traditional looking. Would love a 4" blued .357. But, I'd have to sell a lot of guns just to buy one.
