Yesterday my Wife and I were in Mansfield, Ohio taking care of a few chores. On the way back home, we were on Rt. 30, which is a divided highway. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a buck begin to run across the road, so I braked hard, as it came into my lane in front of me.
It lost its footing on the concrete and slid under the front of my truck, and the right front wheel/tire hit it or ran over it, probably near it hindquarters. It got up and ran into a nearby wooded area. I couldn't see it limping, but it was running like a bat out of Hades.
Checked the truck and there was no damage at all. I'm hoping the Buck wasn't hurt as I don't want it suffering and die a painful death.
