Luxury Watches

I've had a Stainless Omega Seamaster bought about 1968. Then an SS Rolex about 1978, (it was stolen in 1985) then a gold Rolex 1985 I still
have it, but I wear a Timex Expedition which I can see much better day and night, push the stem and the dial lights up.
In my opinion the best looking watch made is the "Royal Oak" by Audemars Piguet! But, I never owned one.

Here is my luxury watch:

Luxury is relative, and it's got all I need. A $10 horological icon and mines been to hell and back and just keeps going.

My wife is more the watch lover than I am she has a few Rolexes (some MOP faces, Diamonds, etc) and others too.
I have one Rolex its the "Batman" watch. My wife got it for a 50th birthday gift for me. I have noticed that value has skyrocketed on the watch.

The Man From Gotham City: The Rolex Batman - Bob's Watches

I don't wear it often it seems too expensive for me...

For some reason, I have a liking for the Milgauss in Black.

I also have an Invicta copy of the "Pepsi" Rolex a whopping $79, I wear without care...

I have a couple Invictas too. Bought the 1st one at a Kohl's post Christmas sale using the wife's 30% off coupon to get it under $70. It's an I-force Lefty, so the crown and stop watch buttons are on the "wrong side" and don't dig into the back of my hand. I liked it enough to tell the wife to get me a different color of the same watch for Christmas the following year. They may be cheap Chinese quartz internals, but they look the part :D

I used to sell high end watches. Never cared much for Rolex. Movements are all big and cluncky. But I sure sold a lot of them. Patek Phillipe was always my favorite. They have scary price tags. Always wore either Breitling or Omega. Breguet and IWC are also very nice. Some of the independent watch makers are doing amazing work. I don't even own a watch now.

That's funny... I do have 3 wrist watches but I just dislike them in general. They are ArmourLite, Bulova and Boss, nothing special. Used to have a Maurice Lacroix back in the day but I didn't see the attraction and sold it. I'm not a jewelry guy anyway, traded my titanium wedding band for a rubber made one and also don't wear necklaces at all. Always carried my dog tags in my pocket instead around my neck

With that being said, I wouldn't mind owning a Patek Philippe or an old-school Waltham or Ball Trainmaster. They do look nice and I sure appreciate the craftsmanship. But again, I probably wouldn't wear them anyway...

I can't help wondering how your wife felt about that wedding ring switch. I've never even heard of a rubber wedding ring.

I know Ball watches may not be as classy as a vintage Rolex or an Omega, but anyone that appreciates old guns needs at least one good watch.
It doesn't look that nice anymore, that pic was taken when I bought it in NYC in the spring of '06.

Supposedly, the Milgauss is one to go up significantly in value in the future because of it's unusual break from the typical Rolex norm. Historically the ones that veer away from their normal productions are some of the ones that jump in value later on due to their lack of popularity when they came out? I think the lighting bolt second hand is cool myself.

I have a couple of Tag Heuers, but my best watch is a Montblanc with a titanium case and band. I chose a Montblanc because it was different than the Rolex watches my friends had. My father gave a Rolex Oyster Perpetual to me as a birthday present. Unfortunately it was stolen.

I recently began to volunteer a couple of days a week where cell phones are prohibited. I keep a watch in with my shirt and wear it while I am there. Even with a 5 hour shift it leaves a mark on my wrist that takes a few hours to disperse. I have not tried on a watch since the 80's that is large enough in the wrist. Most bands that come close only fit in the last hole and flexible metal are all too tight. I'm really glad my phone tells time.

Dang, I bet you can B**** slap somebody like a mule kick with mits that large? lol

Huge score today, been keeping an eye out on ebay for an original fold over clasp to go with my OEM alligator strap and came across the OEM bracelet that came with my watch! These things sell for $800 from most sources if you can find one, I got mine for only $200, used but in NOS condition. Good to be 03hemi today.
The bracelet came in and is better than the description was on ebay, very pleased for only $200 clams.

If you haven't done it already, report it to Rolex. They keep a database and if it is ever sent in for service, they will hold it and notify you.

I would think they're considered a luxury watch. Nice, love the Heuer's!

Went to Uncle Seiko for their reissue of the OEM rubber strap.

6105-8119.

Had one as a kid, got this one from a friend in the mid 90's, had it modded with sapphire crystal and a triple lock crown. Original crown was shot and at that time no one could repair them, Today they can, but I had a decision to make and so I did.

Enjoying this one on weekends.

Wow, talk about bright! Is that tritium, I'm sure it's not radium? Certainly it's not just fluorescent is it? Cool vintage watch too.
