Omega Professional & Alligator- Timeless

I would like to own a very nice watch, but I spend all my disposable money on guns.😀 Because of that, this is what I wear on my arm. Of course, it’s orange because I am a Clemson fan!👍 It keeps perfect time, or at least perfect enough for me. Now I am going to ask a question that hopefully won’t get me kicked off the forum. I realize that you get what you pay for, but I have seen a ton of favorable reviews on watches from this place. Are they worth the money?

To me, $400-500 is a lot to spend on a watch. Does anyone here have one?

Replica, clone, copy, fake, all the same, some are just better than others. Still Fake.
I'm shocked that Rolex allows that site to do business.
Very low trust rating on scam adviser.

I am convinced that site is just a sucker trap for the gullible. English is definitely a second language for whoever wrote it. Gotta believe those watches came from some Chinese prison labor factory.

...There are some super clones in the $1000 range though.
Have you any experimce with these? Seen or handled? If so, what did you think?

For a while back in the 90s I was buying fake Rolexes out of Taiwan as joke giveaway/souvenirs. People got a kick out of them.

I don't recall how much they were but they were pretty cheap. No mistaking them for the real thing when up close.

Over 30 years ago I lived on the Rio Grande. In the town on the Mexican side (Nuevo Laredo) there were always some flea markets where fake Rolex watches sold in the $10-15 range. Some of them looked fairly authentic. I had a friend who bought one of them. He was wearing it and it was confiscated at the border by the Customs agent who saw it when returning to the US. Probably seized because it was marked as being a Rolex. I was with him when it happened. He should have carried it in his pocket.

I have seen them shared online, these aren't your typical cheap clones, these are called "super clones" because even the mvts are faked to look real, it takes an expert to tell em apart.

I’ve been fascinated with watches since my grandma took me shopping for my first watch, at 7-8 years old. It was a silver Timex with a stretchy silver band. Could wait to get up each morning to wind it. :)

Rolex is definitely the most copied watch extant, some are very accurate, better than 95% of an authentic Rolex for a few hundred bucks. There’s enough of a market that the Chinese,
et al. have went to great lengths to fool folks.

About 15 years ago, I knowingly bought an obvious fake from a dude outside the Petronas Towers in KL. He wanted $1200 for his “genuine” Rolex MOP Datejust. I got him down to $50. I felt the story and souvenir were worth that much. :)

I have several watches in my growing collection, with most being military style Luminox, Isobrite, Swiss Army and the like. My only non-black watches are a Tissot PRS200 and two (authentic) Rolex, 16613LN and 116610LV. I am currently looking at Omega models with the transparent back.

I too have always liked watches. My HS graduation gift was a Seiko that was lost at some point. I have some higher end watches but my everyday is a Seiko my then fiancé bought me for Christmas 1980. It survived 21 years in a patrol car amongst other things. Battery change every year or two all good.
As a Public Service announcement to other watch accumulators - if you are not wearing them regularly take the batteries out. I had to have a new movement put into my Zodiac due to battery leakage. The newer generations of batteries seem to leak quicker than days of old ….
