Whats Your S&W EDC

For years now my EDC is Model 637 which replaced my Model 60, which replaced Model 36 as EDC...usually carried in Smith & Wesson leather.

Sometimes a Model 36 with 3 inch HB and stock PC grips in plain jane leather.

Practice a lot with 38, carry + P in the 637, have several good wheel guns in 357 Mag (Model 27's in various lengths,Model 66, etc.) and even a bottom feeder in 9mm (Model 39-2) but always carry (read "depend on") a 38 just because it is what I know best, shoot best in short range situations which I feel is what EDC is all about.

Just my 2 cents, but you did ask.

You have good taste. I agonized between the 637 and 638, and wound up getting the 638 - which I'm very happy with. But I keep seeing good deals on 637's.

Depends on where I'm going, or what I'm doing. 9mm 2.0 Shield, 9c for sketchier days, and 9mm Compact 2.0 3.6 as primary if going into chiraq! Big magazines as backups (at least).

75% of the time, it's an M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm with an Apex Barrel and Ameriglo Hackathorn sights. Everything else is stock.

When I need something smaller, Gen M&P Shield 9mm with an Apex Trigger, Talon Grips and an NDZ pinky extension on the 7rd mag. I carry with MagGuts +2 extensions for my spares.

It also has Crimson Trace grips on it!

Shield 9 straight up, no extras needed.

Mine too, bone stock.

Eight round OEM mag and spare 8-round OEM mag.

Currently I'm carrying a Sig P229 in .40 S&W, but in warmer months I often carry something in stainless, like my 6906, or something like a Shield 45, because I'm a profuse sweater. When I carry my 66-1 snub, only the grip screw gets rusty.

The Sig P229 is a very easy carry, and I'm considering getting a .357 sig barrel for it. I carry the 9mm at times, but "new advances in the 9mm ammo's performance" or not, I like a larger bullet. (as in 40 or 45)

No modifications beyond a change in grips, so far.

Yes, you'd much rather not carry because you can't dress around that big, fat S&W you'really so proud of at the range.

Can we please not turn this S&W thread into a non-S&W pistol competition? Maybe start a different thread?

Having owned 10 KT's from when they first hit the market, and being one of the original contributors to KTOG, I'd be glad to discuss them, elsewhere.

642 PC. I replaced the pretty composite grips with rubber Hogues, and put a couple of coats of red on the front blade; otherwise it's just as it came from the factory.

The one with my 2.0 Compact is a Aoraki. It's a Ridge clone that I found on Amazon. I stopped carrying it because the elastic frays within a few months of use.

The wallet with my Shield, that is a wallet that a buddy of mine made for me out of one of my old XDM Compact holsters. He does make them fresh though. Look for RedEARTH Concealment.

Currently carrying a 360 Airweight for my EDC as my previous EDC DW 15-5 has been giving back fits. The smaller and lighter 5 shot is all I need and with the Hogue grips on 'er she shoots .357 pretty good, a little snappy but nothing that bothers me (it would if I put put a box thru it though).

Sigma SW40VE.

All stock, no aftermarket modifications as of yet. It's a cheap, last generation gun which I recently bought used in like new condition for a mere $199, and there aren't really all that many aftermarket options for it anyway, so I'll most likely just leave it as is.

If I wanted a more feature-rich, upgradable S&W pistol, then I'd probably go for an M&P rather than sink a lot of money into a budget-priced pistol like the Sigma.
