The name Python dates back to 1955. The 2020 Python is an altogether different gun. It just looks like its predecessor and carries the old name.

Well sure, we're all aware of that.

But it looks EXACTLY like the gun made in 1955 (on purpose)......Except it has a QR code on it.......kinda lame.

I'm not afraid of anything related to tracking or conspiracy theories.

I just think it looks like **** and serves no purpose on a gun known for its beauty.

It's like a nice leather jacket that has a barcode on it that you can't remove! It serves no purpose for the function or aesthetics of the gun! And it will probably be old tech way before the gun's life is over.

I have a buddy that has bought 4 of the new Pythons. They are unfired in the back of his safe. He is sure that Colt will discontinue them in the next few years. He plans on adding more Pythons every year. He is sure that once Colt discontinues them they will double in value overnight.

Your friend may not realize that Colt needs civilian cash to survive as a business.I think Colt may soon be stormed with orders and request for more barrel length and more finish options.I can’t see a struggling company with such a long heritage like Colt discontinuing anything that is selling in the civilian market place.

My local guy is a Colt dealer and is working his distributors for one for me. He quoted $1475, just under MSRP. We’ll see how he does.

I like th Packys better than the Lammys (laminated) stocks. Call me a “Goodyear Man” if you must. I swapped them the minute I got home. I’m no fan of laminated grips on revos.

Colt felt the rubber was a good choice in the 80’s and so do I.

Tell him that the first time Colt came out with the Python it was cataloged for over 40 years!
