What did you shoot in the last couple of days?

Switching optics

Not the last couple days but last Sunday were these two. I did some scope swapping and I like my guns dialed in. I had the leupold 3x9 on that anschutz 1418 it went to the Mauser in 35 Whelen. The anschutz received a vintage Redfield 4X with T post reticle that I just picked up for $20.00. I'm liking that scope a lot.

The girl I hunt with liked the Whelen and it liked her. Check the lower left target.

Yes, I played a similar game, Leopold onto my Husqvarna 4100 light weight in 06, gave me a butt kicking, ugly Bushnell onto ugly Savage Tactical in 308... getting a decent group with that one.

New Nikon onto 1951 FN 270, gorgeous all the way around, Maynard P's beautiful, but highly complex mounts finally happy, but "no joy", bolt just kissed the rear bell on the scope, so tear it all apart and start searching for some new glass,,, dang it!

Yesterday morning I was able to get to the range and shoot my 629.
Load was a 240 grain LSWC over 10.9 grains Autocomp, WLP and twice fired star line brass. Well now it's thrice fired. By the way this load shoots pretty clean.

No long distance shooting this time around, I just hit the 25 yard range and shot single action from 20 and 25 yards, then did several double action strings from 10 and 15 yards. Great therapy. Hope to get out again next weekend.

Weather has been a little cool this past week for shooting....gonna make up for it this afternoon. 62% for a high.

Starting out with the fixed sight revolvers and I ain't playin around.
Well, maybe I am playing around:):);)

Fellow came by last Sunday Looking at a boat motor. I could see he was armed when he exited the vehicle. Rossi 38 left hand draw. Through conversation he stated he was church security while looking at the boat motor. Pointing at targets in the yard I mentioned I like to shoot myself. Neither one of us was gonna show a complete stranger our pistol. He connected with a blank stare from me that "'some people didn't even know how many pistols they have', and the ones that do, don't have enough'"

Forgot the fixed sight m10 in the line-up.

Shot a muzzle loader match today. First target was horrible and went downhill from there. Glad to get home.

I know the feeling. I have been there in a long shooting career, I am familiar with the ups and downs - and we all hope for ups. There are match targets I destroyed and tried to forget and then those that I framed.

Don't let it bother you, prepare and next time will be better ( at least the weather mightl be).

In the last few days I have shot a Ruger SR1911 and SR45, Glock 48, Taurus G3 and tomorrow I will shoot my new 4.25" S&W M&P 2.0 in 9mm.
Life is good!

Mostly the breeze.

Hoping to get some range time in during the next couple weeks but my sister and her husband are coming to visit in a week and a half. Mom wants to clean up a bit around here.

Have vacation soon after and will certainly get one or two trips in to the range during that.

This morning I shot my 586 L-Comp and my Model 36. Last weekend, it was again the L-Comp, my 28-2 and my M&P 2". Love my snubby's.

I had my 64ND, 3" 64-3, and Enfield #5Mk1 Jungle Carbine out the other day. Also planned to shoot my Colt Combat Government, but left the .45ACP ammo at home.

My old pickup.

The darn thing has given me so much trouble I shot it in both heads!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D

Got a slightly abused 27-2 the other day. Took of the 6" and put on a #1/2" barrel and have been working on loads and sighting in. Wanted one since seeing the one our county sheriff carried years ago. Good fun!
