Ahrends Grips : Home

"We will not be taking any new orders after 02/22/2020.

Many of you know that a few years back Miss Judy lost a 10 year battle with cancer. I guess the business got neglected to some extent during that time. The medical bills and business debt gave me little choice but to take bankruptcy.

It appeared for a time that it could be worked so I could keep the business going but thats not going to happen. Im looking forward to the future.

It has been a real joy for Judy and me to meet so many great people. I thank you for all the business you have given us. There are so many good memories. Judy handled the phone and made so many lasting friendships.

The bank tied up the programs and even my name. It appears they are going to continue the grip line. There wont be any one named Ahrends associated with these grips and we only hope they can continue the quality we offered."

Cheers, Kim

Sad news indeed. Hope the best for Kim. I really like his grips and have many sets - most came from Gripseller. :)

how sad... I use so many Ahrends grips on my S&W revolvers and always recommended them to fellow gun owners because of their quality and their characteristics. Even imported a whole box of different grips some years ago to Germany, when you could not buy them otherwise over here.
Good luck to Kim.

regards from Germany
Ulrich

A real shame. Real exotic wood grips for the average Joe or Jane.

I'm sure the bank will either mess it up in short order, or sell off the equipment at auction.

That is truly sad news. Over the years I've purchased a number of his grips, mostly for Smith revolvers but also a few sets of his 1911 grips.

He will be missed for sure.

It's really a shame that a true American craftsman such as Kim Ahrends is being forced into bankruptcy; especially so soon after losing Judy..

Sad testament to our times....

I have a couple of sets of his grips for my revolvers which are of impeccable quality and these will now take on a more significant meaning for me.

I wish Kim only the best in his future endeavors.

I just ordered a pair from gripseller, I always wanted a maple set for a M10.

Very sad. Get them while you can.

Yes, it's a shame that the bank forced him into bankruptcy. I've bought several pairs of his grips and of the ones I've bought, found his retro targets fit my hands best of his offerings. His retro combats are also a good fit for me too.

I really hate to hear this. Kim knows how to make a set of grips that fit your hand and look good. I special ordered these two for my Magnum Hunters and they were in my mailbox in two weeks. They stay on the guns at the range too, they're that comfortable. I hope nothing but the best for Kim.

I am saddened that such a great company is going bankrupt.

Mr. Ahrends' retro banana grips fit my hands better than just about anything on the market. I have small hands and short fingers and finger groove grips just don't work for me. When you factor in cost it is tough to beat his products. I ordered another set of N frame maple grips this morning.

Here are some examples of his wonderful work.

I take it it's too late to get an order in?
