How many guns do you carry at one time?

Two. A main and a backup.

Lately I've been carrying a S&W SW40VE and a Ruger LCP as a backup.

Fresh from my pocket.

After I realized just how much pocket lint was caked up in the little nooks and crannies of my LCP, then cleaned it up. (This is why you should regularly clean your carry guns.)

I used to carry just one, with the LCP being a Summer Carry, but it's just so darn light and easy to carry that I started taking it along with me as well as a full-size during Fall/Winter when I could carry something larger.

I have been known to carry a gun ... usually something small and light, either a G-22 or a Sig. 226 or a RIA 1911. If I'm feeling tired, I'll carry something small ... like a K-frame in some sociable caliber like .38 Special ... or .357 S&W Magnum. I have to carry such little light weight pistols when I'm out in the woods b/c I am usually carrying a M-1 Garand in my hands. Although if I've been watching to much Rawhide I'll sometimes opt for a carbine ... .30-30 Marlin 336 Waffle Top. Lately I've been thinking about making some changes. I think a nice Hi-Power might be handy. Stick it in my hip pocket till I can find a good holster. Should be fine for whatever I'm likely to run up against. Sincerely. bruce. :-)

Normally, just one handgun. It depends what I'm wearing. Sometimes I'll carry an LCP .380, sometimes a 2½-inch barreled Model 19, and sometimes I'll toss a 4-inch barreled Model 15 in the truck. It just depends.

But, that being said, I've got a rifle with me in the pickup a lot of the time. I never leave it in there, but when I'm driving about, I will often have it handy to take care of coyotes or whatever. Usually it's my Rossi Model '92 with a 16-inch barrel chambered in .45 Colt.

When I horseback, if I feel the need for another firearm besides my sidearm, which is a Ruger Balckhawk in .45 Colt, I'll pack the rifle in a scabbard.

Generally I carry a M431PD in 32 Magnum. Critical Defense ammo, 6 shot. I also carry an 8 round speed strip as a reload.

I also have an LCR 327 and when I carry it, it's loaded with 327 Mag Hydra Shok or Gold Dot. It can also shoot 32 Magnum so I use the same reload.

When I put these guns on my carry license, I figured I could carry both. The LCR as main and the M431 as backup -- it I ever went anywhere risky.

But it turns out, I've never felt the need for more than one gun. So the two gun plan hasn't happened.

Short answer: One

As a civilian now I carry one gun on my person. Mostly it's been a Shield 9 V1. I'm thinking of switching back to my XDs45 as it carries very easily too, and shoots nice. Plus it's a 45 and I still like large bullets. There's also others in the rotation including 1911s and Glocks (a 19 and a 40). Occasionally there is another gun in my truck.

Wow, a 45 Colt would kill and field dress a coyote all at the same time. Years ago, I had a suspect sic a Doberman on me and a 125 gr hard cast LSWHP 357 just about did that to him and I remember him as bigger than most coyotes I have seen.

One. I do carry spare ammo, sometimes I might want to stop at a gravel pit a shoot a few rounds. JMHO, If I feel I need a gun, a BUG, couple of knives, flashlight, mace, impact weapon, tourniquet,...I don't think I'm going.

I Utah , can the rifle be loaded in your truck? Here in Pa it can't due to game laws.

The vast majority of the time, one with a reload (Shield 9). About the only times I'll carry a second gun is when traveling to an unfamiliar area I carry a spare to arm the wife. The other time is if it's cold enough to wear a heavy coat that impedes access to my primary I'll have my 642 in an outside coat pocket.

I only carry one at a time with three reloads. I do keep long guns in the truck and jeep. Usually that's an AR.

One normally (Ruger LCR.38) Thats for staying in my area during good times.

XDs .45 if going into the city or a distance from my home turf.

Only once did I carry 2 that was in the 70s and they had a escape from the county jail by a bunch of real bad people. Did that til the escapes were recaptured!

We lived close enough to the jail I though that was prudent. Guns carried a full size 1911 .45 in shoulder holster with a spare mag and a Walther PPK .380 on my ankle.

Almost every day of my life since 1980 there has been a Smith& Wesson J-frame with me. Originally as a BUG, but in more recent years as a primary sidearm. I do not carry spare ammunition on my person

In any of my cars, there are two auto loaders within arms reach and there is thunder stick or a carbine in the back with spare ammunition for everything.

But in these current days of having to fight over the last Coronas in the store, we all dress a little heavier

For those that do not know, that is the famous Gun Leather maker John Bianchi displaying the art of concealment

These images are out of an old magazine. I think it was Shooting Times. Amazing how a Tux can conceal 63 firearms. BTW, getting tossed into a deep body of water is highly frowned upon when you are carrying this much hardware :)
