If you ever need a tv remote, avoid this company. Electronic Adventures, also doing business as New Remotes in Tampa,FL. Looked up my exact remote on their web site, priced at 20.00. When it arrived it was a 7.00 one I found on Amazon and it would not turn my tv on even after I followed their reset instructions. Called them, advised to follow link and fill out form so a tech could find the problem. They would email me in 1-2 days. No email. To shorten this story, called for return label, no label. So now gave up and have filed a complaint with FL AG, Today I file a complaint with BBB and start contacting every forum I am a member of. Also looked them up on BBB website, 16 complaints so far. Now, to find another remote. One last thing, their mo is to send you a cheap one and advise yours has been discontinued. Rant over, sorry

I was lucky as I found the remote I needed on their site for $29.95. I then looked at Amazon and found the exact same one, even Model Number was the same for $8. Needless to say, I purchased it from Amazon.

Go to social media also, if you're a member.
My buddy was shorted a mag on his order and called their CS. The young punk told him he didn't care. Pound Sand.
My buddy goes to Facebook, etc, with names and the story.
Punk calls back to apologize to save his job. My buddy tells him to pound sand and hangs up.
Same day they mail him the mag.

My wife says that I'm too anal when it comes to buying things on the net, and that I waste my time researching the small things. I don't consider five minutes a waste of time because that five minutes will save me from more time dealing with unnecessary aggravation.

First red flag from that site is the fact that they don't allow any product ratings or feedback. My #1 rule with buying is to check reviews and feedback so a yahoo search would have been the first thing I would have done here. I spent a whopping 30 seconds and quickly discovered that Electronic Adventures is absolutely "FLY-BY-NIGHT".

Well, if we're on rants:
Sportsmans Guide has apparently gone down the tubes. We ordered a 3 items, 2 of which were sets of 3. Nothing major. One set of 3 contained 2 of the correct items but was missing an item but contained a 3rd pretty unrelated item. The second set of 3 was just totally wrong. The third, one of their branded holsters was just an unbelievably poor fit for a model specified holster. Lessen learned there.

The package of 3 with the one missing item, they then resent, but we were charged for it a second time although the incorrect item was returned, along with the other incorrect and unsatisfactory items. The other items we we just asked for a refund the order was screwed up so bad.

We have called them but have been unable to talk with anyone with a brain, have been left on hold for ridiculous amounts of time, told they have to check the warehouse for some reason,.... on and on and on. We have proof the returned items arrived where they wanted them sent.

We have no idea how they can repeatedly screw up something so simple. This was not our previous experience with them. However, they have now convinced us this is their new MOA. I can understand a mistake, although they started with a compound mistake. But to continue to screw up with their now obviously incompetent customer service is just unacceptable. We no longer have any trust in the company. I wonder if Northern Tool, their parent company since about 2012, is as bad. I have ordered from them in many years.

We won't be renewing our club membership. I guess we're done with them.

I guess I shouldn't have hijacked the thread for my own rant, but I did.

Followup:

After much aggravation, mostly on the wife's part, involving more attempts at phone calls and finally emails, we got the order thing straightened out, we thought. Well, we did get the credit card credited for the correct amount. Meanwhile another package arrived from them. We hadn't ordered anything from them. We didn't open the package pending the credit card getting straightened out because we figured we'd be returning the unordered package unopened. Once the credit card was straightened out and not reflecting more charges we figured we'd see what the package was.

So, we opened the package. Inside was the twin pack of socks we received by mistake and returned....and a third pair of socks we've never seen before??? Inside was a letter stating:

"Dear Customer,

You recently returned some merchandise to us. After reviewing your account and order history, we determined the merchandise was never ordered from us. We had no choice but to return the merchandise back to you.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

Returns Department"

TWILIGHT ZONE!

Needless to say we will not try to contact them.

My wife about passed out laughing so hard. What happened to those people?

I've bought a couple of remotes on eBay and have had really good luck with them. Just buy from a US seller with a good feedback rating. You pay a little more, but if there is a need to return it, the postage probably won't exceed the value of the item - like it does if you have to return something to China or Taiwan or Hong Kong.

That sounds like something from a comedy show.

I just received my most recent order from them - a pack of a dozen "military surplus" t shirts. They got my order correct. Maybe I was just lucky.

I ordered a Magnavox DVD recorder remote from ebay for 15.00 and when it came I put batteries in and it worked perfect. I guess some times you get the short end of the stick. Jeff
