model 39-2 magazines

Two questions on a Model 39-2 . . .

(1) at approx what serial number (or date) did the Model 39-2 follower change from the metal (figure 8) to the plastic or, said another way, should s/n A422344 have the metal or plastic?

(2) did S&W ever produce a "parkerized" 39-2 magazine as shown on the left in the pictures below?

Change to plastic follower at about A200000.
I dont know on the park finish. Do you mean like green?
I have a few with steel followers that is like a coarse, textured greenish color. I have some in high gloss blue and a dull matte finish.

Thanks for the s/n for the change to plastic. The finish on the one I suggested might be parkerized is dull matte but more black than green

Third picture below shows a "dimple" on the left side near the lip but all three of mine have the same dimple . . . not sure if that's what you're looking for or not.

Sorry Russ, I meant the right side, but your pics show the dimple up under the right lip and two line base plate. thanks.
