Random Object Photographs

I photographed this expansive Southwest sunset on Christmas Eve in 2018. It was taken from East of Las Cruces New Mexico. We had just lost our oldest daughter in a private plane crash that October. The symbolism of this scene was not lost on us - we really missed her at our family gathering there.

Who ever buys the house their building next door to me won't have much grass to cut. They put the forms up for the driveway a couple days ago. I colored in where the drive and grass will be. Lots of cement.

They'll have more grass than me. :D

Took a ride to Swift Reservoir, stopping for lunch in Cougar, WA.

Wooster Street, New Haven, CT
Some people say its the birthplace of pizza in the USA
Some people say its the best pizza in the USA.
If you see the signs they call it Apizza.

I had Sallys yesterday was good, I've had Pepes in the past, the clam pie is fantastic!

New Haven pie is a very thin crust made in a hand-formed shape. The shape is more amoeba than round. Cooked in a hot coal oven with char on the bottom and edges. I guess as far from Chicago style as you can get.

Back in January 2017 I buried my snowcat while out grooming snowmobile trails.

These aren't something you want to get stuck. :D

Here's my rescue crew the following morning.

They brought 2 guys from the main shop in SLC and another snowcat from another State Park.
Plus my boss and another guy that works in my park.

We have police radios in the cats so I contacted dispatch and they sent my boss out to get me on a snowmobile.

We groom at night when the snow is frozen.

Here's the other cat trying to pull me out. Nope, my cat was frozen to the ground.

We had to completely dig out the cat, use its power to try and free the tracks that were
frozen to the ground while jerking on it with the other cat.

We were just grateful that the weather cooperated with us. :D

Speaking of things in NM-
Early on Priests went out to Indian Pueblos, which were permanent locations and built Missions.
Three Southwest of here are the Salt Missions.
This is Grand Quivera. This large structure was never finished.
