Olives stuffed with garlic and jalapenos.

Olives are my absolute favorite vegetable, and have been since I tasted the very first one that I tasted, as a six year old boy. I have never tasted an olive, stuffed with anything, that I didn't like.

Never had a Black Olive or Garlic section touch my Gin or Vodka before.

However that one might go good in a Bloody Mary ?

I think I will pass, on this one.

Anybody got other suggestions - I don't have a Sam's membership and it looks like the Hy-vee nearest to me seems to be in South Dakota...

Thanks for looking that up.
I also don’t have Sam card and never heard of Hy-vee.
Stores do have weird names.
Way Back in Texas - Me- why would you name your grocery store HEB?
Realtor Lady- you might if your last name was Butt.

Green olives

While on the subject of olives, I'd like to pass on this tale, of a prank played on me by a good, now deceased. friend. This old friend, and his twin brother, also deceased, were teenage friends of mine, In central Ohio, Those friends were farmers, and I sometimes helped them farm their land. When his unmarried brother died, the other brother, moved their farm equipment, and his family, to the San Joaquin Valley, in California, and started a large farm/orchard there. One year while on vacation, my family, and I visited him and his family. We reminisced, and shared many meals together, and I told them of my love of olives. He asked, if I'd ever tried them picked fresh from the tree, and I said that I hadn't. He said 'well, you've missed the boat, that's how olives taste the best. He then said there's an olive grove nearby, and tomorrow we'll go there, and let you pick some olives fresh off the trees. On the way to that olive grove, the next day I was told that, since fresh olives were such a delicacy, that people stole olives off the trees all the time, and the grove owners, carefully guarded the groves with shotguns and would shoot a thief on sight. He said, I'll park along the road, you run in, grab a handful of Olives, run back and get into the car as quick as you can. when we were safely moving down the road, I popped that handful of olives into my mouth and began too chew them. Well, folks, unprocessed olives are bitter as gall, and they about turned my mouth inside out. As I spit those bitter things out the window, I thought that my old buddy, would surely wreck the car as he was laughing uncontrollably. That was the best prank I've ever had pulled on me.

When I was a little kid, I didn’t even like the smell of olives and wouldn’t touch one. My mom made me eat one at the thanksgiving dinner table.
I immediately threw up and put quite a damper on the meal for everyone else.
Needless to say that was my one and only olive.

I used to make my own mix at Wegmans until covid changed all that. Now I get their prepackaged mix. Black, green, stuffed, nekked...no matter, I will pound them down with cheese and crackers and a glass of wine.

Wife loves them. I hate them. She has to have them on our pizza. Needless to say she doesn't have to worry about her leftover pizza disappearing like the other leftovers. I can tolerate the green ones, but the black olives are barf city.

The original stuffed olive...

Yum!

As kozmic said...
The (better) grocery store deli's used to have them in many flavors.
I'd pick up a variety of them on most weekends, for eats during the game.

Sadly, the open selection isn't there with today's silliness.
But they still offer them in deli packages, so that's what I get!

Gonna have a few right now...
