Fifty nine Chevy BelAir with a 283 power pack engine and a very rare 4 spd trans. Bought it in 63 and totaled it 6 months later! I was 17 YO at the time!
Mine was a black 1957 Ford Fairlane 2 dr ht rust bucket. Bought for $125 in 1970 at age 16. Had a 312 V8 with 3-on-the-tree + overdrive. I spent more time wrenching on it than I did driving it. My dad liked that part. [emoji846]The 312 dropped a valve so I swapped in a 390 w/C6 AT. Sold it in 1977. Don’t have a single photo of it. [emoji24]
1967 Ford LTD, in 1975. It was a step up from the '65 Chevelle my dad gave me before my Senior year of HS. The LTD had a 390, 4 door, burgundy w/vinyl roof, roll open wing windows (that's living' large), safety lights on all 4 doors killed my battery every time I cleaned the inside! Put in a good 8-track sound system. Even had the reverb you could hook up to make your car faster! Or more stupid-sounding! Traded it in on a '75 lot demo Buick Electra limited! P O S!
I do not have a picture but mine was a 1961 Chevy Nomad wagon. It had lots of miles on it and our neighbor gave it to me. Lots of rust but it got me to school and work for about 18 months before too many things broke at once.
Rusty1953 my uncle had a 65 T Bird in the same color as yours and my first new car was a 1979 T Bird in Midnight Blue.
69’ Triumph TR6 bought when I got out of the Army in 72’
Fun car! Used to trade occasionally with my best friend who had a 69’ Camaro 350 and hepped up.
He was crazy to do that. Just the cost in tires!
He’d use my TR for dates...lol
Didn't have my name on the pink slip. I was only 16. But it was a '36 Ford Coupe. 2-dr, 6-banger, 3 on the tree and the starter was a peddle on the floor to the left of the clutch. No pics...Not sure if cameras had been invented back then.
The first car with my name on the pink slip was a '62 Chevrolet Corvair Monaz. I called it my "Baby Vette". It was a fun car but the engine was in the back and that didn't seem to be a good idea. We had cameras by then but I don't have any pics of that either.
When I came home on leave from my first tour on Okinawa I bought it here in the Houston area and drove it out to my new duty station on Camp Pendleton. It is south of Los Angeles and North of San Diego. That is no place to be without wheels.
1959 Peugeot 403 4 on the column, while I was stationed at Loring AFB Maine in 1964. That thing didn't have enough power to get up the hills in Northern Maine.
