Mannix tv show

Knew a guy from Fresno who went to school with Krekor Ohanian , AKA Mike Conners.
'Mike' came from one of many Armenian families up that away.

Its on early AM on MeTV. I watch it every morning with my first cigarette of the day.

And by the way if anyone is interested, smoker Mike Connors: Born August 15, 1925 – Died January 26, 2017, that's not a bad run in my opinion.

HOW early in the morning? And how many eps run then?

Granted, smoking is hazardous to health, but looks like that's taken over what could have been a good thread about a good TV show.

Many of you may already know, but William Talman did a lot B (and A-) movie work before he hit it big on Perry Mason. Usually good roles.

William Talman contracted lung cancer, and toward the end of his life he did make public service announcements against smoking for the American Cancer Society. (The Perry Mason TV Show Book, copyright 1987) I saw one of them that was made not long before he died in 1968 and he looked BAD.

Just to get the topic back on S&W firearms; in the early seasons Mannix drove a super customized Barris creation based on the Olds Toronado (Floating bull) and carried a Walther PPK in a funky mechanical holster. All the bad guys carried 2" S&W Model 10 6-shot revolvers. In the later seasons he was a lone Private Eye with a a-typical sexytary and he carried a S&W M-10 2" revolver and all the bad guys carried PPKs. Geoff Who remembers a few episodes. Regretfully Shell Scott never made it from the paperbacks to the little screen.

Geoff-

He had a Detective Spcl., not a S&W. Look carefully. I may have missed an M-10 episode.

Definitely a Colt Detective Special.

Long ago, I ran into a celebrating Mike Conners/Krekor Ohanian (may he rest in peace) and he bought me and a few friends rounds of drinks at a party he was hosting at Rick's on Westheimer. Seemed like a nice guy, knew how lucky he was, he gave one drunk buddy a (legitimate) ride home.

I remember that show and loved it. Been a long time and had forgotten about it. My dad smoked and smoking in the house, office and car were never anything I ever thought about and I don't think many people did. I smoked for years and loved it but quit a number of years ago and glad I did. Thinking back I think you could smoke pretty much anywhere you wanted to.

Rockford Files, Cagney & Lacey, NYPD Blue, Mannixx are some of my favs. I record NYPD Blue now during the wee hours and watch them daytime now. Mike Hammer was another pretty good one.

The konks on the head would have had him in a nursing home the first season. There used to be a video of all the headshots he took, but it's gone now. Pretty funny.
