I ordered a couple of pairs of Hogue TAMER grips from S&W.

For the LANYARD RING type rubber stock screw shown below:

Call Hogue at 800 GET-GRIP (800 438-4747) or (805) 239-1440 ask for

part number 00128 Lanyard 1/2" (length) ring screw satin nickel

part number 00129 Lanyard 1" (length) ring screw satin nickel

I recommend that you order a couple of each as Hogue only makes a batch or two a year. These are not standard catalog items.

500 Magnum & 2 ¼” Lady Smith M frame .22 Long from 1913

The S&W Store sells the Hogue Tamer grips with the S&W Logo and so does Hogue of course with a Hogue Logo. Same exact grip. I do not know the price difference. I suspect S&W charges more. You have to call them to order them. I plan to do that tomorrow. When I do I will post the price so folks can see difference. In my case my Alaskan Backer IV should have come with S&W labeled Hogue Tamer grips. Although the original owner swears they came with Pacchmeyers. So I may spend a little more to have the as received configuration for the gun.

When I bought Tamers from S&W about 2 years ago, they were $35/pair, same as Hogue's price. But as you posted with S&W logo.

They will fit fine, and most of mine are so equipped.

One caveat, however, is that they won’t be tight on a K/L/X/Z frame after riding for a while on an N frame.

At ~$40, shipped, they’re considered a wear item on a big-bore gun.

The 500 Hogue "Tamer" rubber grips with Sorbatane will "work" on the 24-3, 624, 610, 625, and other N frames with true N size RB grip frames (with N size top width).

After riding on those N frames above for awhile they will stretch a bit, then fit a bit loose on the guns they're made for: K/L, X frame 500/460 Mag RB, the Z frame Governor, and 329, 325 N frames (with K/L size across the medallion area and at the knuckle).

I took the 329PD and my new to me 629-4 Classic Carry snubby to the range. The 329 weighs 26 Oz and the 629-4 weighs 33oz.
There was a noticeable difference in the snappiness of the 329. I did not find it terrible but wasn't the most pleasant things to shoot either. I would take it backpacking or hunting as a side arm anytime though.
It shoots point of aim at 10 yards. Both the short barrel x29s are very accurate, at least at distances I usually shoot at the indoor range.
I am pleased with this purchase.

Glad you are happy with your new purchase.

The older I get, the more I go to shorter barrel guns - I think it's a deteriorating strength issue. Any way, much easier for me to shoot for any length of time.

I think you ment 43 oz, not 33 oz for your 629-4.

Enjoy!

Paul

Paul you are correct it is 42 OZ for the 629-4 3" per our kitchen scale. The 329PD is a full pound lighter!
